Job summary

Chalhoub Group is seeking a data quality engineer to lead cross‑functional data quality initiatives across e‑commerce and ERP pipelines. You will design automated validation, profiling, and ML‑based anomaly detection to ensure data integrity and reliable reconciliations across systems.

The role requires 5+ years in data quality or data engineering, strong SQL/Python skills, and experience with dbt, Great Expectations, Soda, and data cataloging tools like DataHub.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data quality engineering or data engineering.
• Proficient in SQL and Python; hands-on with dbt and automated data testing tools.
• Experience with ML-based anomaly detection and cross-system data reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Lead data quality engineering across e‑commerce and ERP data pipelines.
• Design automated data validation, profiling, and anomaly detection rules, including ML-based detection.
• Define data quality dimensions (freshness, completeness, validity, schema drift) with severity, scoring, and SLAs.
• Build reconciliation frameworks and resolve cross-system data reconciliation errors across e‑commerce, POS, and ERP feeds.
• Establish data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting in Google BigQuery or another MPP data warehouse (e.g. Snowflake).
• Support master data management and 'Golden Record' harmonization across systems.
• Apply data cataloging and lineage tools (DataHub) to trace, prioritize, and resolve data quality issues.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to data quality engineers and collaborate with data governance and engineering teams.

What you'll be doing

Lead data quality engineering across e-commerce and ERP pipelines, designing automated validation, profiling, and anomaly detection, and resolving cross-system data reconciliation errors to ensure high data integrity.

• Lead data quality engineering across e-commerce and ERP data pipelines.


• Design automated data validation, profiling, and anomaly detection rules, including ML-based anomaly detection, using automated data testing tooling (e.g. Great Expectations, Soda, Monte Carlo), dbt, and SQL.


• Define data quality dimensions (freshness, completeness, validity, schema drift) with severity, scoring, and quality SLAs.


• Build reconciliation frameworks and resolve cross-system data reconciliation errors across e-commerce, POS, and ERP feeds.


• Establish data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting in Google BigQuery or another MPP data warehouse (e.g. Snowflake), and surface data quality findings and scorecards to stakeholders.


• Support master data management and 'Golden Record' harmonization across systems.


• Apply data cataloging and lineage tools (DataHub) to trace, prioritize, and resolve data quality issues.


• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to data quality engineers and collaborate with data governance and engineering teams.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data quality engineering or data engineering.


• Strong SQL and Python skills, with hands-on experience in dbt and automated data testing tooling (e.g. Great Expectations, Soda, Monte Carlo).


• Experience designing data validation, profiling, and anomaly detection, including MLbased, across e-commerce and ERP pipelines.


• Experience defining data quality dimensions, severity, scoring, SLAs, and reconciliation frameworks.


• Experience resolving cross-system data reconciliation errors and supporting master data management.


• Familiarity with data cataloging and lineage (Datahub) and MPP cloud data warehouses (e.g. Google BigQuery, Snowflake), with a technical mentoring capability.


• Hands‑on experience with AI coding assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) for AI-assisted development.
