Job summary

Chalhoub Group’s Capability Hub is seeking a data engineer to support ingestion pipelines and BI reporting on the Group's cloud data platform. The role focuses on writing SQL/Python ingestion scripts, testing data quality, and monitoring Airflow schedules.

You will work with BigQuery, dbt, and Looker to maintain dashboards and improve data workflows, gaining exposure to ETL/ELT concepts and data quality practices within a hybrid luxury retail tech environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in data engineering or a related technical area.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Exposure to Google BigQuery, Apache Airflow, and dbt.
• Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker.
• Foundational understanding of ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and data quality concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior data engineers in writing SQL and Python ingestion and transformation scripts.
• Execute automated data tests to support data quality.
• Monitor pipeline job schedules in Apache Airflow and elevate failures and delays.
• Maintain Looker reports and dashboards.
• Support data transformation tasks using dbt on Google BigQuery.
• Help investigate and resolve basic data ingestion issues under guidance.
• Collaborate with the data engineering team, learning and applying data engineering best practices.

What You’ll Be Doing

Support the data engineering team by writing ingestion scripts, executing automated data tests, monitoring pipeline schedules, and maintaining BI reports on the Group's cloud data platform.

• Foundational understanding of ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and data quality concepts.
