Job summary

Optum India is seeking a Data Engineering Consultant to remodel and maintain the Identity Management System. You will design scalable data pipelines, implement IDM data integration, and develop API solutions to support identity analytics and governance.

The role requires 6+ years in data engineering, hands-on Azure Data Factory/Databricks expertise, and experience with Generative AI tools. Strong collaboration with security and business stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 6+ years of data engineering experience.
• Strong API, SQL, Python, Spark, and ETL/ELT development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• Experience with Generative AI technologies (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, LangChain, etc.).
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and metadata management.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines
• Develop IDM data integration solutions
• Develop API solutions
• Implement data validation, cleansing, reconciliation, and governance frameworks to ensure accuracy and consistency of identity-related data
• Design and optimize data models, data lakes, and warehouse structures to support identity analytics, access reviews, compliance reporting, and audit requirements
• Design and implement solutions using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL, Spark, or equivalent cloud-native data platforms
• Optimize ETL/ELT processes, automate data workflows, and improve pipeline reliability, scalability, and monitoring
• Ensure data engineering solutions comply with security standards, privacy regulations, audit requirements, and enterprise IAM policies
• Work closely with IDM architects, security teams, application owners, and business stakeholders to define data requirements and deliver enterprise identity data solutions
• Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering
• Solid API, SQL, Python, Spark, and ETL/ELT development experience
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or equivalent cloud platforms
• Hands on experience in Generative AI technologies including OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, LangChain, Agents, RAG, Vector Databases, Prompt Engineering, and fine-tuning
• Experience with data governance, data quality, and metadata management frameworks
