Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Data Engineering Consultant to remodel and maintain the Identity Management System, designing scalable data pipelines and IDM integrations. You will build API solutions and governance frameworks, leveraging Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL, and Spark to support identity analytics and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Solid API, SQL, Python, Spark, and ETL/ELT development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Hands on experience in Generative AI technologies including OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, LangChain, Agents, RAG, Vector Databases, Prompt Engineering, and fine‑tuning.
• Experience with data governance, data quality, and metadata management frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines.

• Implement data validation, cleansing, reconciliation, and governance frameworks to ensure accuracy and consistency of identity‑related data.
• Design and optimize data models, data lakes, and warehouse structures to support identity analytics, access reviews, compliance reporting, and audit requirements.
• Design and implement solutions using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL, Spark, or equivalent cloud‑native data platforms.
• Optimize ETL/ELT processes, automate data workflows, and improve pipeline reliability, scalability, and monitoring.
• Ensure data engineering solutions comply with security standards, privacy regulations, audit requirements, and enterprise IAM policies.
• Work closely with IDM architects, security teams, application owners, and business stakeholders to define data requirements and deliver enterprise identity data solutions.
• Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements.
