Job description

As a Senior Control Systems Engineer at Colt DCS, you will play a key role in the delivery of multi-disciplinary designs, managing external engineering consultants and contractors to ensure successful project delivery in line with Colt's Global design standards.

Responsibilities

• Leading the creation, documentation, and continuous improvement of global design standards for building automation systems, EPMS, security, HVAC, lighting, energy management, and integration protocols.
• Ensuring that control system architecture, hardware selection, software programming, and integration strategies align with project requirements.
• Managing the Design Programme to ensure timely creation and review of Employers Requirements (ERs), tender information, and design documentation for planning and construction.
• Making design decisions related to data centre projects, including new construction, phased expansion, retrofits and upgrades, mechanical and electrical equipment selections, and standards upgrades globally.
• Interacting with ASMEP design consultants, PMC, various contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver world‑class data centres.
• Conducting site audits to validate conformance to policy and standards.
• Analyzing, reviewing, and commenting on design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data submitted for review.
• Participating in project commissioning activities and providing support to the Global Head of Building Automation Systems.
• Working on sales requests and liaising with customers to develop specific project design requirements.

The role requires office presence and regular site visits throughout the week; working from home policy does not apply.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in ELV and security systems engineering principles.
• Technical knowledge of MEP, HVAC, fire detection and suppression systems, electrical systems, and BMS/EPMS systems.
• Experience in testing and commissioning levels and commissioning planning of mission‑critical systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation.
• Commitment to transparency; excellent communication skills; ability to work accurately under pressure.
• Deep understanding of control systems, BMS platforms, cybersecurity principles, and security systems design.
