Extensive experience with Java, Spring, Hibernate, NoSQL/SQL databases, and scalable architecture

Job description

Architect, design, code, test, and maintain Visa Business Solutions B2B products
Lead architecture and design for owned applications and contribute to reviews of other applications
Collaborate with stakeholders to determine project requirements, considering tradeoffs and project costs
Translate functional and non-functional requirements into system designs and communicate component interactions
Develop secure, maintainable, high-performance Java/J2EE code using industry-standard design patterns
Collaborate with Development and QA staff on team deliverables
Create installation and maintenance documentation and procedures
Work with Operations on production issues
Identify enhancements to standards, best practices, design patterns, and development methodologies
Collaborate with project teams and Network, QA, Operations, and Engineering groups
Adopt new technical trends, solutions, and patterns to improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance
Follow and enhance coding and design best practices
Participate in design and code reviews to ensure delivery quality and adherence to development standards
Review data and statistical analysis to identify complex issues and possible solutions
Lead work as a Sr. Consultant Software Engineer on Visa’s B2B Acceptance team

Requirements

10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or at least 8 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or 5 years of work experience with a PhD, or 12+ years of relevant work experience
Experience with Eclipse/MyEclipse, JetBrains IntelliJ, or another major Java IDE
Hands-on experience designing, fine-tuning, and integrating GenAI/LLM-based solutions, including OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or Vertex AI
Production-grade AI features or developer tooling experience
Deep understanding of vector databases, embeddings, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and model optimization
Experience architecting scalable, high-performance GenAI systems for enterprise use cases
Experience building application architecture from the ground up, including infrastructure sizing, technology stack identification, and performance estimation
Extensive technical experience with Java, Spring, Hibernate, Java and web frameworks at scale
Experience with Git/Stash, Maven, and Jenkins
Experience with NoSQL and SQL datastores, including MySQL and MongoDB
Experience with Unix or Linux platforms
Experience with Docker/Kubernetes, Kafka, HazelCast, Prometheus, or Graphana
Experience with tools development and automation, including CI/CD, auto deployment, and system availability
Experience with TCP/IP, HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Angular, React, JQuery, NodeJs, REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, OAuth, and SAML
Ability to write clean, coherent code following established coding guidelines
Experience developing as part of an Agile/Scrum team

Past experience in Payments or B2B products
