Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day civil execution of the 15 MGD STP against project schedule and quality standards.
• Prepare, review, and validate Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) for RCC structures and manage reinforcement at site.
• Supervise construction of RCC tanks, aeration basins, secondary clarifiers, inlet works, and allied structures.
• Read and interpret civil, structural, and GA drawings and resolve site-level issues.
• Coordinate civil works with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation activities to keep interfaces on track.
• Manage contractors and subcontractors—work fronts, manpower, shuttering, reinforcement, concreting, and progress billing verification.
• Enforce QA/QC on civil works per IS codes and CPCB/DPCC requirements.
• Manage material reconciliation, site safety, and construction documentation.
• Support pre-commissioning activities and coordinate with client and consultants.
• Report progress, risks, and bottlenecks with mitigation plans.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead the civil construction and execution of a 15 MGD (approx. 68 MLD) Sewage Treatment Plant in Delhi. This is a hands‑on, site‑based role for a civil engineer who has personally executed the civil works of STP projects of comparable scale from foundation to commissioning. Candidates without direct sewage treatment plant experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day civil execution of the 15 MGD STP, driving progress against the project schedule and quality standards.
• Prepare, review, and validate Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) for RCC structures, and control steel reinforcement estimation, cutting, bending, and placement at site.
• Supervise construction of key civil structures: RCC tanks, aeration basins, secondary clarifiers, inlet works, screen and grit chambers, sludge handling units, pump houses, and allied structures.
• Read and interpret civil, structural, and GA drawings (RCC detailing, hydraulic profiles, layout drawings) and resolve site‑level issues.
• Coordinate civil works with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation activities to keep interdependent fronts on track.
• Manage contractors and subcontractors — work fronts, manpower, shuttering, reinforcement, concreting, and progress billing verification.
• Enforce QA/QC on civil works: concrete quality, reinforcement as per BBS, waterproofing, water‑retaining structure testing, and finishing standards.
• Ensure execution complies with IS codes, approved specifications, and CPCB / DPCC requirements.
• Manage material reconciliation (including steel and concrete), site safety (EHS), and construction documentation.
• Support pre‑commissioning activities and coordinate with client and consultants.
• Report progress, risks, and bottlenecks to the Project Manager with clear mitigation plans.

Must-Have Qualifications (STP-specific)

• B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• 8–12 years in civil construction, with a minimum of 4–5 years specifically on Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) projects — not general water, WTP, building, or infrastructure construction.
• Hands‑on experience preparing and executing Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) and managing reinforcement for RCC/water‑retaining structures.
• Strong command of RCC and water‑retaining structure construction — design mixes, waterproofing, and leak/hydrotesting of tanks.
• Sound understanding of STP layouts, hydraulics, treatment unit sequencing, and civil‑mechanical interfaces.
• Familiarity with IS codes and CPCB / DPCC discharge standards.
