Role
SSOE is hiring a Senior Chemical / Process Engineer to lead process engineering for advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities and other high-technology industrial projects. The role focuses on design and delivery of process utility systems (ultra-pure water, specialty gases, chemical distribution, waste handling), technical leadership, and mentoring across global, multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead process design from concept through detailed design and construction documentation.
- Prepare and review PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, calculations, reports, and design packages.
- Perform practical engineering calculations: hydraulic analysis, line sizing, pressure drop, pump/NPSH, heat exchanger sizing, PSV calculations, surge checks, thermal expansion.
- Ensure deliverables meet client requirements, applicable codes/standards, QA/QC expectations, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate with piping, mechanical, electrical, I&C, structural, architectural, procurement, vendors, and construction teams.
- Participate in HAZOP, safety reviews, risk assessments, constructability reviews, and technical issue resolution.
- Support project managers with scope clarity, resource planning, progress inputs, technical decisions, and change control.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and support capability building through standards, templates, lessons learned, and knowledge sharing.
- Support client meetings, technical presentations, vendor discussions, proposals, and business development inputs as required.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
- 15+ years of relevant process engineering experience in industrial or high-technology facility projects.
Core Competencies
- Process design, fluid mechanics, hydraulic modeling, and equipment sizing/selection.
- Strong process safety mindset, risk assessment, QA/QC, and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Technical leadership, problem solving, clear communication, client focus, and mentoring.
- Willingness to travel for project meetings, vendor discussions, and site visits.
Technical Skills & Tools
- Hydraulic modeling software and pipe stress analysis tools.
- Exposure to AI-enabled engineering workflows, industry LLMs, and vibe-coding platforms is preferred.
- Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, API, NFPA, CGA, ISA, OSHA, SEMI, environmental/safety regulations, and Indian statutory requirements.
- Preferred exposure: semiconductor manufacturing, electronics/high-tech, specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals, battery manufacturing, food & beverage, consumer products, and industrial utility infrastructure.

- Work timings noted in IST: morning 08:00–12:00 and evening 20:00–00:00. Hybrid work arrangements are offered.
