Arcadis is seeking a Process Engineer to join our Global Excellence Centre in Navi Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have 8-14 years of experience in process engineering, specializing in the design and development of innovative solutions for the pharmaceutical and process industries.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, knowledge of process safety, and excellent project management skills. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

Role Description

This role will form a core part of our Global Excellence Centre (GEC) – Arcadis’ centralized and fully integrated project delivery group. Our GEC is made up of more than 3,000 talented individuals working in offices across India, Romania and Philippines, providing Capability, Capacity and a Competitive Advantage across a wide array of unique projects and services, in collaboration with our global businesses.

Advanced Process Manufacturing within the GECs is comprised of cross‑functional teams that contribute to the design and development of innovative process engineering solutions in Pharmaceutical, Semi‑Conductor & Process industries. Our ability to effectively manage projects, assess client needs, and provide technical guidance is crucial in delivering successful outcomes, using the most innovative ways of doing computational design.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of plant equipment layouts, process flow diagrams, equipment sizing & P & IDs.
• Preparation of specifications & data sheets for Process Equipment, Utility Equipment, Warehouse Equipment, etc.
• Experience with OSD projects (Tablet, Capsule manufacturing), facility design and equipment used in OSD facilities, such as Granulator, FBD/FBP, compression, Coaters, etc.
• Knowledge of equipment such as blister packing, bottle packing lines, secondary packing lines, track & trace, palletisers, etc.
• Experience with small (Ampoule, Vial, PFS, etc.) and large volume parenteral facility design.
• Knowledge of equipment such as ampoule/vial washers, dehydrogenation tunnels, filling machines, isolators, autoclaves, inspection machines, secondary packing machines.
• Knowledge of instrumentation control requirements & preparation of plant process control philosophies.
• Provide required process input to the Instrumentation team for instrument process data sheets.
• Develop documentation, diagrams, and specifications to meet project requirements and compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.
• Participate in project reviews to enable ongoing status tracking and reporting.
• Prepare & review project documents such as DQ, IQ, OQ & PQ qualifications, FAT/SAT protocol & reports.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices in process design.
• Adhere to cGMP guidelines and work as per Arcadis SOP/Work instructions.
• Compliance with SHE & Sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical preferred / Mechanical).
• Experience as a process engineer in a design engineering consultancy environment.
• 8‑14 years of experience as a process engineer in a design consultancy.
• Knowledge of process analysis & process modelling.
• Working knowledge of process safety, risk assessment and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Good project management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.

Nice to Have

• Master’s degree in process engineering or a related field.
• Professional certification in process engineering or related areas.
• Experience with process automation and control systems.
• Knowledge of process simulation software and CAD tools.
• Solid understanding of quality management systems, such as ISO standards.
• Experience with sterile processing.
• Knowledge of hazardous area classification.
• Experience with high potency pharmaceuticals.
• Experience with both small molecule and large molecule process design.
