Job summary

Carrier in India seeks an experienced BMS/Commissioning Engineer to lead startup, commissioning and troubleshooting of control systems for HVAC and related equipment. You will review technical docs, support BMS programming, and coordinate with field operations to ensure timely completion.

The role requires 5+ years in BMS commissioning, knowledge of BACnet/Modbus, and strong communication skills. Flexibility to adapt to shift schedules and deliver detailed reports is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in BMS or control system commissioning, testing and troubleshooting.
• Fair knowledge of HVAC systems and their operation.
• Good understanding of BMS programming and control logics; third-party integration such as energy meters, VFDs.
• Familiarity with BACnet and Modbus protocols.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Self-starter with ability to organize and plan work schedules.
• Maintain professional presentation in appearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide startup, commission, and re-commission of HVAC, lighting, and refrigeration systems.
• Review and understand technical documents such as wiring diagrams and as-builts.
• Support Commissioning and troubleshooting of BMS equipment via calls, emails, tickets.
• Understand operation of field equipment (AHU, RTU, HP Chiller, sensors); coordinate with Field ops.
• Use questioning and listening to support effective telephone communication.
• Resolve problems by clarifying issues and researching solutions; escalate when needed.
• Prepare detailed commissioning reports, as-built documentation, and technical notes.
• Build rapport with customers through professional communication over the phone.
• Adapt to shift schedules to meet operational requirements.
• Track commissioning issues and action items to closure via project trackers.
• Prepare BOQ.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide startup, commission, and re-commission of customer HVAC, lighting, and refrigeration systems.
• Understanding and reviewing, technical documents such as wiring diagrams, as-builts, exc.
• Support and provide Commissioning and troubleshooting of BMS equipment’s via calls, e-mails, tickets etc.
• Understanding the operation of field level equipment’s such as AHU, RTU, HP Chiller, sensors, and Coordination with Field operations team
• Use questioning and listening skills that support effective telephone communication.
• Resolves problems by clarifying issues; researching and exploring answers and alternative solutions; implementing solutions; escalating unresolved problems.
• Prepare detailed commissioning reports, as-built documentation, and technical advisory notes.
• Build and maintain positive rapport with diverse customers through professional and effective communication over the phone.
• Demonstrate flexibility and support operational requirements by adapting to shift schedules based on work-floor priorities.
• Own and drive the tracking of commissioning issues, punch points, and action items to timely closure through effective use of project trackers and stakeholder coordination.
• Preparation of BOQ

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Min 5+ years’ experience in the field of BMS or control system commissioning, functional testing and troubleshooting activities.
• Having fair knowledge on HVAC systems and its operations
• Having good understanding on BMS programming and control logics ,3rd party system integration such as Energy meters, VFD etc.
• Familiarity with protocols like BACnet, Modbus etc.
• Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to organize and plan your work schedule.
• Always maintain a professional presentation in appearance

Education / Certifications:

B.E/B.Tech in related discipline preferably Electronics/Instrumentation & control /Mechatronics etc.

Core Competencies:

Solid understanding of BMS and HVAC systems

Third-party integration experience (BACnet IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus)

Solid communication skills (ability to follow/direct written and verbal instruction)

Proficient in the use of E-Mail, Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power-Point, and other directly related software.

Working hours’ flexibility to meet customer requirements.
