Job summary

Gbas Technologies seeks a Senior Application Engineer BMS to independently deliver BAS projects, focusing on software programming, front-end graphics, and hardware submittals for HVAC systems.

You will collaborate with global remote teams, review control sequences, design BoMs, develop UIs, and ensure quality across hardware and software packages.

Qualifications

• Proven engineering expertise in BAS/BMS software programming focused on HVAC control systems.
• Deep understanding of industrial/commercial HVAC systems (Chillers, Boilers, AHUs, VAVs, WSHPs) and open protocols like BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.
• Platform knowledge of Tridium Niagara or equivalent.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Visio; familiarity with PDF-based markup for schematic reviews.
• Experience with global remote engineering delivery and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and equipment schedules to identify HVAC components, dampers, and sensors.
• Interpret and apply complex control sequences for HVAC systems including AHUs, chillers, boilers, and VAVs.
• Develop Bills of Material (BoMs) and select sensors, valves, actuators, and controllers.
• Design and document schematics, controller wiring layouts, field wiring terminations, and Sequence of Operations (SOO).
• Prepare I/O summaries and BAS network architecture documentation.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects from estimation through quality checks to on-time delivery.
• Generate review documentation and RFIs to clarify missing project criteria.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Senior Application Engineer BMS to independently execute Building Automation System (BAS) projects. This role demands an expert focus on software programming, front-end graphics development, and hardware engineering design submittals. The ideal candidate possesses a robust background in control systems engineering, an intimate understanding of complex HVAC equipment sequences, and experience with global remote engineering setups.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Hardware Engineering & Design Submittals:
  • Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and equipment schedules to identify HVAC components, dampers, and sensors.
  • Interpret and apply complex control sequences for HVAC systems including AHUs, chillers, boilers, and VAVs.
  • Develop detailed Bills of Material (BoMs) and select appropriate sensors, valves, actuators, and controllers.
  • Design and document comprehensive schematics, controller wiring layouts, field wiring terminations, and Sequence of Operations (SOO).
  • Prepare and finalize explicit I/O summaries and BAS network architecture documentation.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects from initial estimation through strict quality checks to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Generate review documentation and RFIs to clarify missing project criteria proactively.
• Programming & Graphics Configuration:
  • Independently execute DDC software programming and simulation for supervisory and DDC-level controllers.
  • Build, configure, and compile comprehensive testing and final commissioning software packages.
  • Develop high-quality BMS user interfaces, including detailed equipment schematics, floorplan graphics, and system summary pages.
  • Ensure all remote engineering deliverables match strict accuracy and quality benchmarks.
• Quality, Compliance & Performance:
  • Deliver defect-free hardware and software engineering packages matching industry and client standards.
  • Consistently contribute to targeted billable hour milestones annually.
  • Maintain absolute alignment with internal workflows and execution guidelines.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Technical Background: Proven engineering expertise in BAS/BMS software programming specifically focused on HVAC control systems.
• Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of industrial/commercial HVAC systems (Chillers, Boilers, AHUs, VAVs, WSHPs etc) and open protocols like BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.
• Platform Expertise: Strong preference for engineers with working knowledge of Tridium Niagara, or equivalent industry platforms.
• Software Tools: Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Visio, and PDF-based markup tools for electrical/control schematic review.
• Global Delivery: Prior experience working within a remote engineering services framework or collaborating with international engineering teams is a massive advantage.
• Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, highly proactive, quality-focused, and capable of multi-tasking under minimal supervision.
