Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in Mumbai, India, is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join the BMS commissioning team.

You will program supervisory and DDC level controllers, configure servers/workstations, and implement BMS graphics and documentation across projects in infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, airports, and commercial buildings. Ideal candidates hold BE/ME in instrumentation or electrical fields and have 3–6 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• BE/ME in Instrumentation, Electrical or Electronics
• 3–6 years in Building Automation or Industrial Automation
• Niagara certification is an asset
• Knowledge of HVAC systems (Chilled Water, AHUs, FCUs, pumps)
• Strong BMS architecture knowledge: workstations, controllers, sensors, actuators
• Familiar with BACNet, LON, Modbus, OPC protocols

Responsibilities

• Program supervisory and DDC level controllers; prepare test plans and simulations
• Configure Server & Workstation for BMS
• Implement BMS graphics and documentation
• Ensure QA and deliver defect-free hardware/software packages
• Adhere to processes to meet project timelines
• Test equipment on site and resolve issues
• Maintain assigned KPIs and achieve customer satisfaction
• Coordinate with Architects, Clients and Contractors during project
• Lead a team of site engineers & technicians on technical aspects

What you will do

In this role, you will be part of Commissioning Engineer Team for BMS.

How you will do it

• Software programming of supervisory and DDC level controllers, prepare test plan, perform simulation and delivering commissioning package to field from India Engineering center
• Configuring the Server & Workstation
• Configuring the BMS graphics implementation and documentation.
• Ensure quality assurance and defect free hardware and software package delivery
• Adherence with all processes and guidelines to execute project within timeline
• Testing equipment's on site
• Demonstrate adherence to operational process requirements to drive efficiency
• Should be able to maintain assigned KPIs and should own to meet them.
• Achieving customer satisfaction by completing the work on time.
• Maintaining relationships with key influencers / decision-makers with customer organizations to get the certifications on work done
• Coordinate with other vendors for interface
• Co-ordination with the Architects, Clients and Contractors at various stages of the project
• Managing team of site engineers & Technicians working under and supporting on technical aspects to resolve the customer query / issues at sites

What we look for

• BE/ME (Instrumentation / Electrical/ Electronics / Electronics & Communication
• 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in Building Automation Industry, BMS Design Engineering or Industrial Automation.
• Niagara Certified Engineers will have added advantage
• Knowledge of HVAC systems like Chilled Water System, Cooling Towers, Primary & Secondary pumping systems, Hot Water System, Different types of AHUs, FCUs, VAV systems etc.
• Strong knowledge of BMS architecture with different types of Operator workstations, Supervisory Controllers, DDC controllers, Sensors & Actuators etc.
• Knowledge of different types of network protocols like BACNet, LON, Modbus, OPC, and other protocols
• Must be proficient in wiring of starters, field devices, safety interlocks & panels
• Experience in engineering, installing and commissioning of HVAC & BMS systems for infrastructure projects like pharmaceuticals, airports, commercial buildings, hospitals
