Job summary

Sobha Realty is seeking a Senior BIM Engineer to lead structural BIM modeling and coordination for large-scale residential projects. The role demands strong expertise in rebar detailing, BIM tools, and cross-discipline leadership to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.

The position focuses on internal project delivery with guidance to junior engineers, ensuring adherence to Sobha standards and local regulations.

Qualifications

• 12 to 15 years of experience in structural design coordination, including rebar detailing.
• At least 4 years in BIM-Structural / Steel detailing.
• Experience on large-scale residential or high-rise projects, GCC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage structural BIM modeling and coordination throughout all project phases.
• Prepare BIM models, coordination deliverables, clash detection reports, and project trackers.
• Review and validate structural drawings and BIM model for accuracy and compliance with project standards.
• Coordinate closely with architecture, MEP, landscape, and construction teams to ensure full integration.
• Ensure compliance with Sobha standards and local authority requirements (Dubai Municipality).
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and BIM technicians within the team.
• Attend technical and coordination meetings internally with architecture, MEP, landscape, and construction teams to align design intent and approvals.
• Track and manage design deliverables, submissions, and approvals across disciplines.
• Facilitate design review meetings, workshops, and follow-ups to resolve issues proactively.
• Prepare and present progress reports and updates for internal management and client briefings.

This senior role requires strong technical knowledge of structural systems including rebar detailing, advanced BIM expertise, and leadership in coordinating cross- discipline teams to ensure timely, high-quality project delivery. The focus is entirely on internal project delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

SKILLS

• Strong expertise in BIM tools: Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC.
• In-depth knowledge of structural systems and large-scale residential/high-rise projects.
• Proficiency in clash detection, model auditing, and cross-discipline coordination.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and multitasking skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to mentor junior team members and enforce BIM and Structural standards.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelors degree in civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline, Diploma/ITI/ITC/Draughtsman in civil.
• 12 to 15 years of experience in structural design coordination, including rebar detailing, with at least 4 years in BIM-Structural / Steel detailing.
• Proven track record in large-scale residential or high-rise projects, preferably in the GCC.
