Job summary

Entropik is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own backend systems end-to-end, from design to deployment, scaling, and monitoring in production. You will build scalable services using Python, AWS, and NoSQL datastores, and own the CI/CD pipelines that ship them.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of professional backend development experience.
• Hands-on with Python, service-oriented architectures, microservices, and REST APIs.
• 3+ years of AWS experience (EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC).
• Comfort owning production systems - deployments, on‑call, incident resolution.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL datastores (Postgres, MySQL, Elasticsearch, or similar).
• Strong experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker required; Kubernetes or ECS preferred).
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Understanding of distributed systems concepts - scaling, fault tolerance, eventual consistency.
• Experience with API Gateways and API management/orchestration.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tooling (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
• Strong grasp of Unit Testing and Test‑Driven Development (TDD).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs powering Entropik’s Emotion AI products.
• Own deployment pipelines end-to-end - CI/CD design, release automation, rollback strategy.
• Manage and evolve cloud infrastructure on AWS, including provisioning, cost optimization, and security posture.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation) so environments are reproducible and auditable.
• Containerize services and manage orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS) across environments.
• Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting (CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK) to catch issues before customers do.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and drive incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortems.
• Collaborate closely with product and ML teams to ship features that sit at the intersection of AI and infrastructure.

About The Role
