Job summary

Entropik, a Human Insights AI company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own backend systems end-to-end. You will design, build, and maintain scalable services using Python, AWS, and NoSQL datastores, and you will lead deployment pipelines from development through production.

You will manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, implement IaC with Terraform/ CloudFormation, containerize with Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes, and ensure observability with monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of professional backend development experience
• Hands-on with Python, building service-oriented architectures, microservices, and REST APIs
• 3+ years hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC)
• Comfort owning production systems - deployments, on-call, and incident resolution
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL datastores (Postgres, MySQL, Elasticsearch, or similar)
• Strong experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker required; Kubernetes or ECS strongly preferred)
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
• Understanding of distributed systems concepts - scaling, fault tolerance, eventual consistency
• Experience with API Gateways and API management/orchestration
• Experience with monitoring/observability tooling (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar)
• Strong grasp of Unit Testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD)

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs powering Entropik's Emotion AI products
• Own deployment pipelines end-to-end - CI/CD design, release automation, rollback strategy
• Manage and evolve cloud infrastructure on AWS, including provisioning, cost optimization, and security posture
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation) so environments are reproducible and auditable
• Containerize services and manage orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS) across environments
• Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK) to catch issues before customers do
• Participate in on-call rotation and drive incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortems
• Collaborate closely with product and ML teams to ship features that sit at the intersection of AI and infrastructure

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who owns backend systems end-to-end from design and development through deployment, scaling, and monitoring in production. You'll build scalable services using Python, AWS, and NoSQL datastores, and you'll also own the infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines that ship them. This is a hands-on role for someone equally comfortable writing a microservice and debugging a broken pipeline or a production incident.
