Job summary

Omnipresence Ventures India Private Limited is seeking a senior backend engineer to own the core product and platform architecture, collaborating with the founder and the engineering team to deliver customer-facing features and scale the platform.

You will strengthen performance, security and reliability, design multi-tenant SaaS systems and contribute to in-house voice and conversational AI initiatives, while mentoring juniors and driving technical standards.

Qualifications

• Four or more years building production backend systems.
• Strong Node.js and TypeScript expertise.
• Deep knowledge of REST APIs, async processing and backend patterns.
• Solid system design and scalability thinking.
• Proficient in SQL and PostgreSQL database design.
• Experience with Prisma and modern ORMs.
• Hands-on AWS experience (S3, IAM, Lambda).
• Experience building deployment pipelines and release automation.
• Security: authentication and authorization.
• Able to diagnose production issues across app, DB and infra.
• Comfort with ambiguity and taking ownership.

Job description

We are hiring a senior, hands-on backend engineer to take ownership of our core product and platform architecture. You will work directly with the founder and engineering team to build customer-facing features, strengthen the existing platform, and improve its scalability, security and reliability. The role also provides exposure to new product areas, including in-house voice and conversational AI systems that change how customers interact with the platform.

What you'll work on

• Design, develop and maintain backend services, APIs and database architecture
• Build and deliver new product features from requirement definition through production release
• Improve the platform's scalability, performance, security and reliability
• Design systems for a multi-tenant B2B SaaS environment
• Build and maintain deployment pipelines and release automation

• Diagnose and resolve production issues

• Contribute to voice interaction and conversational AI initiatives
• Participate in product and technical-direction discussions with the founder
• Review code and improve engineering standards and documentation
• Mentor and support junior engineers and interns
• Bring structure to existing systems and independently take ownership of undocumented areas

What we're looking for

• Four or more years of experience building and operating production backend systems
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, asynchronous processing and backend design patterns
• Solid understanding of system design and the ability to reason about scale
• Strong SQL, data modelling and database-schema design skills
• Experience with PostgreSQL or a comparable relational database
• Familiarity with modern ORMs such as Prisma
• Hands-on experience with AWS services, including S3, IAM and Lambda
• Experience building deployment pipelines and release automation
• Understanding of authentication, authorisation and application security
• Ability to diagnose production issues across application, database and infrastructure layers
• Comfort working with ambiguity and taking ownership independently

• Experience with WhatsApp Business Platform or other business-messaging APIs
• Experience building multi-tenant SaaS applications
• Experience with Redis, queues or event-driven systems
• Exposure to voice or conversational AI systems
