Job summary

Nyavx Solutions Private Limited is seeking a hands-on Senior Engineer / Tech Lead to own significant parts of our SaaS backend and platform. You will remain deeply involved in code, mentoring, and architecture while implementing demanding areas of the system.

The role requires 6+ years in backend or full-stack engineering, with strong TypeScript, SQL/PostgreSQL, and multi-tenant experience. Hybrid work in Chennai is offered as part of the position.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional backend or full-stack engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript.
• Deep practical knowledge of SQL, PostgreSQL, and relational data modelling.
• Experience building or operating multi-tenant applications.
• Strong understanding of API design, application architecture, and data-access patterns.
• Experience with event-driven architecture, messaging, or technologies such as Kafka.
• Experience with caching and search technologies.
• Strong code-review capability and the ability to identify architectural and maintainability issues early.
• Previous experience acting as a Tech Lead or senior engineer within a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across backend and platform engineering.
• Review pull requests and maintain a high engineering quality bar.
• Guide engineers on architecture, implementation patterns, testing, and repository conventions.
• Own key backend services and shared platform capabilities.
• Design and review relational data models and database architecture.
• Ensure strong tenant and data isolation.
• Lead implementation of authentication, authorization, and policy enforcement.
• Design and maintain event-driven workflows and service integrations.
• Break specifications into clear, executable engineering tasks.
• Resolve difficult technical issues and implementation blockers.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and document significant decisions through concise architecture records.
• Improve engineering standards, CI pipelines, release processes, and production readiness.
• Mentor engineers through reviews and technical discussions.
• Work closely with Product, QA, and Design to convert product requirements into reliable releases.
• Remain hands-on and contribute directly to implementation.

Senior Engineer / Tech Lead – Backend & Platform

Chennai, India (Hybrid) 6+ years (Senior / Technical Lead)

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Engineer / Tech Lead to take significant technical ownership of our SaaS platform. The role combines architecture, implementation, code review, technical mentoring, and release ownership. This is not a management-only position. We expect the Tech Lead to remain deeply involved in the codebase and personally implement some of the most technically demanding areas of the platform. A major responsibility of this role is to establish an engineering system where developers can deliver consistently without every technical decision or code review depending on a single person.

• Strong understanding of API design, application architecture, and data-access patterns
• Experience with event-driven architecture, messaging, or technologies such as Kafka
• Experience with caching and search technologies
• Strong code-review capability and the ability to identify architectural and maintainability issues early
• Previous experience acting as a Tech Lead, Senior Engineer, Staff-level contributor, or the most senior engineer within a team
• Evidence of improving the effectiveness of other engineers through mentoring, documentation, review, and better engineering practices
• Ability to make pragmatic architectural decisions in a small product company
• Good judgment regarding what must be engineered thoroughly now and what can reasonably be deferred

Nice to Have

• Experience with Hono, Bun, Kysely, or TanStack Start
• Experience with policy-based authorization technologies such as Cerbos or OPA
• Experience with Kafka, Redis, and OpenSearch
• Infrastructure-as-code experience using OpenTofu or Terraform
• Experience with data-residency or regulatory requirements
• Experience working on HR, payroll, accounting, financial, CRM, ERP, or other regulated business systems
• SaaS product experience involving customers in India, the Middle East, or international markets
