Job summary

Drip Capital is hiring a Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain microservices delivering capital to customers worldwide.

You will collaborate with product managers, develop risk modules, and automate workflows while ensuring low-latency, scalable backend systems. Proficiency in multiple languages and MVC frameworks is valued.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building low-latency, distributed systems.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C/C++).
• Experience with MVC frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Spring, or CodeIgniter.
• Relational DBs (MySQL/PostgreSQL); writing optimized SQL and indexing.

Role Overview

Job Responsibilities:

As a Backend Developer at Drip Capital, you will be responsible for:

• Designing, building, deploying, and maintaining microservices that provide time-sensitive capital to customers worldwide.
• Collaborating closely with product managers to understand customer requirements and define technical solutions.
• Developing risk modules to adapt to individual and market variations.
• Creating and enhancing workflow automation.
• Debugging issues across services and multiple levels of the technology stack.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of relevant experience in building low-latency, distributed systems that are scalable and reliable.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proficiency in at least one back-end programming language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C/C++
• Experience with at least one MVC framework used for backend development, such as Ruby on Rails, Spring, CodeIgniter, etc.
• Proficiency in relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL), with the ability to write optimized SQL queries and understand indexing, schema design, and query performance.
• Experience in designing and building APIs, including RESTful APIs or GraphQL, with good understanding of versioning, pagination, authentication, and best practices.
• Solid understanding of software architecture fundamentals, including object-oriented design, abstractions, and system design.
• Passion for building well-engineered, reusable backend components with high-quality code.
• Basic knowledge of test-driven software development.
• Good to have prior experience with ruby on rails.
