Job summary

Solveesy is seeking a Senior Backend Lead for on-site work in New Delhi. You will own the backend architecture end-to-end, mentor developers, and drive architectural decisions. The role requires deep Java and Spring Boot expertise, strong AWS knowledge, and the ability to translate business needs into technical roadmaps.

You will lead daily standups, break down tasks, review code, and ensure high-quality production releases while coordinating with the founder on quarterly roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend-heavy software engineering experience.
• Demonstrable experience leading or mentoring junior developers.
• Deep Java and Spring Boot at production level.
• Strong on AWS (EC2, S3, IAM), REST APIs, and Postgres.

Responsibilities

What you will do

Technical ownership

• Own the backend architecture end-to-end Java 8, Spring Boot, Flowable, Keycloak, and Postgres on AWS, over an Asterisk + SIP telephony core.
• Write production-quality code and set the standard for the rest of the team.
• Make independent architecture decisions and flag risks early.
• Review all code before it goes to production.

Team leadership

• Lead in-house backend and frontend developers daily.
• Break down product requirements into clearly defined developer tasks.
• Unblock developers when they are stuck - do not wait for problems to elevate.
• Run the team’s daily rhythm - morning standup and end-of-day close-out.
• Daily updates to the founder - what was done, what is blocked, what is planned for tomorrow.

Roadmap ownership

• Sit with the founder to build and maintain a rolling 3-month technical roadmap.
• Translate business priorities into sequenced engineering sprints.
• Track sprint progress and flag deviations before they become delays.

What you must have

• 6+ years of backend-heavy software engineering experience.
• Demonstrable experience leading or mentoring junior developers.
• Deep Java and Spring Boot at production level.
• Strong on AWS (EC2, S3, IAM), REST APIs, and Postgres.
• Comfortable making architecture decisions without handholding.

Nice to have

• Fintech, NBFC, or BFSI domain experience.
• VoIP, Asterisk, SIP, or telephony stack exposure.
• Experience integrating AI or LLM APIs, STT systems, or voice agents.
• Familiarity with TRAI regulations, the RBI Fair Practices Code, or the DPDP Act 2023.

Work details

Location: Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi - on-site, no work from home.

Workdays: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM-7:00 PM; Saturday, 10:00 AM-6:00 PM.
