Cognizant is seeking a highly skilled Automation Architect to design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test solutions across UI, API, and database layers in Chennai. The role focuses on GenAI, LLMs, NLP, and agentic architectures with cloud integration and observability. This leadership position requires a strong background in AI-driven solution design.

Location: Chennai. 12+ years of experience in AI architectures, cloud services, and enterprise-scale systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in architecture, digital transformation, or AI solutions.
• Certifications in Cloud / AI / Architecture are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end architecture of AI/GenAI solutions including LLM-based, agentic, NLP, and automation use cases.
• Translate business requirements into AI solution blueprints, workflows, and reference architectures.
• Define multi-agent architectures, orchestration patterns, and AI service integration models.
• Ensure alignment with cloud, data, security, and enterprise architecture standards.
• Design solutions using LLMs, vector databases, prompt engineering, RAG, and agent frameworks.
• Define scalability, performance, observability, and cost-optimization strategies for AI workloads.
• Embed responsible AI, security, privacy, and compliance controls into AI architectures.
• Partner with engineering, QA, DevOps, and product teams; provide technical leadership and architecture governance.

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Architect to design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test solutions across UI, API, and database layers. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience with the following:

• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, GenAI, LLMs, NLP, and agentic architectures
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) and AI services
• Knowledge of data architectures, APIs, microservices, and event‑driven systems
• Familiarity with CI/CD, ML‑Ops, model lifecycle management, and observability

Key Responsibilities of AI Architect

Architecture & Solution Design

• Own the end‑to‑end architecture of AI / GenAI solutions including LLM‑based, agentic, NLP, and automation use cases
• Translate business requirements into AI solution blueprints, workflows, and reference architectures
• Define multi‑agent architectures, orchestration patterns, and AI service integration models
• Ensure alignment with cloud, data, security, and enterprise architecture standards

AI Platforms & Technology

• Design solutions using LLMs, vector databases, prompt engineering, RAG, and agent frameworks
• Select and govern AI platforms, tools, and frameworks (cloud AI services, open‑source, enterprise tools)
• Define scalability, performance, observability, and cost‑optimization strategies for AI workloads

Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Embed responsible AI, security, privacy, and compliance controls into AI architectures
• Define guardrails for model usage, data access, hallucination mitigation, and auditability
• Support regulated environments (e.g., Healthcare, Life Sciences, BFSI) with traceable AI designs

Delivery & Enablement

• Partner with engineering, QA, DevOps, and product teams during implementation
• Provide technical leadership, design reviews, and architecture governance
• Create reusable assets: reference architectures, patterns, accelerators, and design templates

Stakeholder & Thought Leadership

• Work with business leaders, consulting, and presales to shape AI value narratives and solution POVs
• Support client discussions, solution walkthroughs, and AI strategy articulation
• Mentor teams and drive AI capability upliftment and best practices
