Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) in India’s Global Delivery Center invites a Senior Associate to join the Transaction Advisory Group. You will perform financial due diligence on diverse global projects, assess earnings quality, cash flow, working capital and key drivers across industries.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of financial accounting due diligence experience, preferably at a Big‑4 or top accounting firm in India’s Global Delivery Center or Country practice.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting and/or related major.
• Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), MBA or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credential.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting.
• High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong project management skills.
• Flexibility to work both as a team member and as an individual contributor.
• Ability to thrive in fast‑paced settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with core financial due diligence, identifying key risks, potential deal breakers, and assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the business.
• Prepare project databook.
• Analyze detailed financial statement information including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and key operational data.
• Synthesize and convert the data into meaningful information used to drive discussions with target management and underpin observations and conclusions.
• Assess the quality of the target company’s reported earnings, net assets, and cash flows.
• Assist in constructing deal‑oriented reports and presentations that highlight key financial, commercial and other findings facing investments and the drivers behind maintainable profits and cash flows.
• Aid the team in articulating how such findings should be incorporated into valuation, purchase agreements and negotiation points.
• Participate in meetings and conference calls with target company management and client personnel.
• Be actively involved in building and maintaining client relationships and generating business development opportunities.

A&M’s Transaction Advisory Group (TAG) has an exciting entrepreneurial opportunity to join a budding global capability center team in India and work with the teams across the Americas, EMEA and APAC. TAG is seeking a senior associate to bring their energy, passion and expertise to help our clients get the answers they need to get the deal done. We provide private equity and corporate clients buy‑side and sell‑side financial accounting due diligence. TAG professionals actively engage in assessing a target’s quality of earnings, analyzing cash flows, reviewing working capital, identifying key business drivers, reviewing forecasts, and conducting comprehensive discussions with management and their advisors.

How You Will Contribute

You will have the opportunity to work with our highly motivated and effective team of professionals on a variety of interesting global projects across different industries—including manufacturing, distribution, consumer, retail, restaurants, business and industrial services as well as healthcare, software & technology, energy and financial services. You will gain exposure to our integrated due diligence approach that goes beyond traditional quality‑of‑earnings analyses and focuses on key value drivers for sponsors and lenders. Our integrated approach combines deep operational, functional and industry expertise with Big‑4 quality financial accounting and tax services to drive value throughout the investment lifecycle.
