Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Associate Software Engineer to design and maintain Salesforce solutions, including LWC, Apex and Visualforce. You will develop integrations using REST/SOAP and drive deployments with Copado and CI/CD in a fast-paced team.

You will collaborate with analysts, architects, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions, while mentoring juniors and upholding code quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in computer science, IT, or related field.
• Hands-on Salesforce development experience: 4-7 years.
• Proficiency in LWC, Apex, Visualforce & Aura, and Salesforce configuration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Salesforce solutions using Apex, LWC, Visualforce, Aura and SOQL.
• Implement standard and custom Salesforce objects, fields, layouts, Flows, validations and approvals.
• Develop Apex classes and triggers, including batch processes and schedulers, with robust exception handling.
• Write test classes, perform unit testing and support UAT.
• Build and maintain integrations using REST and SOAP APIs.
• Leverage Copado, Git and CI/CD pipelines for deployment automation.
• Participate in code reviews and manage releases and deployments.
• Troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with analysts and architects to translate business needs into solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies; contribute to sprint planning, estimation and demos.
• Mentor junior developers and document architecture and best practices.

As a Senior Associate Software Engineer at Amgen, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining software applications to meet business needs. You will collaborate with a team of software engineers, participate in the full software development life cycle, and ensure the delivery of high-quality code and solutions. Your strong programming skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail will contribute to the development of robust and scalable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and Develop scalable custom solutions on the Salesforce Service Cloud platform using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, Aura and work with SOQL.
• Implement and configure standard and custom Salesforce objects, fields, layouts, Flows, validation rules, and approval processes.
• Develop Apex classes, triggers (including batch classes, schedulers), and robust exception-handling logic.
• Write test classes for code coverage, perform unit testing and support UAT.
• Build and maintain integrations using REST and SOAP APIs with external/internal systems.
• Utilize DevOps tools such as Copado , Git, and CI/CD pipelines for deployment automation and release management.
• Participate in code reviews, manage releases and handle deployments
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues, perform root-cause analysis, and optimize system performance and code quality.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and actively contribute to sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and demos.
• Guide and mentor junior developers in standard development practices, code reviews, and platform optimization.
• Maintain clear documentation of processes, solutions and system architecture.
• Ensure salesforce best practices are implemented.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 4 - 7 years of hands-on Salesforce development experience.
• Proficiency in:
  • Lightning Web Components (LWC)
  • Apex (classes, triggers, batch processing)
  • Visualforce & Aura
  • Salesforce configuration and security models
• Experience integrating Salesforce with internal and third‑party systems using REST/SOAP APIs.
• Solid understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities, object model, sharing rules, and automation tools.
• Experience with Git, version control branching strategies, and CI/CD practices in large enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated expertise with Copado for deployment management and pipeline automation.
