Job summary

Horizon Sustainability is seeking an experienced Senior Associate - Environment to join our environmental consulting team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in environmental assessments, regulatory compliance, sustainability studies, and project execution.

This role offers the flexibility to work remotely while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on projects across India. You will lead preparation and review of EIA/EMP, manage EC applications, and support ESG initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Remote Sensing & GIS, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, compliance, sustainability, or EIA-related projects.
• Strong understanding of Indian environmental regulations, EIA Notification, Environmental Clearance processes, NABET accreditation requirements and Pollution Control Board requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports and Environmental Management Plans (EMP).
• Manage Environmental Clearance (EC) applications and EC Compliance submissions.
• Prepare and review Consent to Establish (CTE) and Consent to Operate (CTO) documentation.
• Conduct environmental compliance audits and regulatory assessments.
• Lead Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies and sustainability evaluations.
• Plan and execute Heat Stress Analysis and occupational environmental studies.
• Prepare and review Conceptual Plans, Detailed Project Reports (DPR/DCP), and related technical documents.
• Conduct Traffic Impact Assessments and Traffic Studies for development projects.
• Analyze environmental monitoring data related to air, water, noise, soil, waste management, and occupational health.
• Support ESG reporting, sustainability initiatives, and environmental performance assessments.
• Coordinate with clients, laboratories, regulatory authorities, and project stakeholders.
• Review technical reports prepared by junior team members and provide guidance.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Remote Sensing & GIS, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, compliance, sustainability, or EIA-related projects.
• Strong understanding of Indian environmental regulations, EIA Notification, Environmental Clearance processes, NABET accreditation requirements and Pollution Control Board requirements.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing technical reports and regulatory submissions.
• Knowledge of environmental monitoring methodologies, ESG frameworks, and sustainability reporting.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word. Other softwares as applicable to their field of expertise.

Preferred Skills:

• Excellent technical writing and report preparation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with GIS, environmental modelling, or sustainability assessment tools is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting project deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
