Qualifications

• 5–8+ years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or SRE in enterprise environments.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms (Azure Monitor, App Insights, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Exposure to cloud security, IAM, network security, and governance frameworks.
• Experience in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
• Background working with third-party vendors or managed cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and enhancement of enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, tests, security, and deployments.
• Architect, provision, and maintain cloud environments using IaC (Terraform, ARM/Bicep).
• Design comprehensive monitoring and alerting to maximise visibility and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineers, security, product, and QA to embed DevOps practices across the lifecycle.
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical leadership to junior engineers.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will lead the design, evolution, and optimisation of the infrastructure, automation frameworks, and delivery pipelines that underpin reliable, secure, and scalable software delivery across the organisation. You will influence technical direction, drive DevOps maturity, and act as a key partner to engineering, architecture, security, and global delivery teams.

This role requires deep technical expertise, strong ownership, and the ability to guide teams in adopting modern engineering and operational best practices. You will champion automation, observability, and cloudnative excellence, ensuring platforms are resilient, performant, and able to scale with business demands.

Key Responsibilities

CI/CD Pipeline Engineering & Delivery Automation

• Lead the design and enhancement of enterprisegrade CI/CD pipelines supporting automated build, test, security, and deployment workflows.
• Ensure pipelines are highly scalable, secure, and optimised for fast, reliable delivery across multiple products and environments.
• Collaborate with engineers and QA teams to embed quality gates, security scanning, and automated testing throughout the pipeline.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce manual interventions, increase deployment frequency, and enhance release confidence.
• Mentor engineers on best practices in release automation, branching strategies, and pipeline optimisation.

Cloud Infrastructure & Environment Leadership

• Architect, provision, and maintain cloud environments (preferably Azure) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, ARM, or Bicep.
• Oversee the stability, performance, and scalability of development, staging, and production environments.
• Implement robust cloud architecture aligned with security, costoptimisation, and operational standards.
• Lead investigation and resolution of complex infrastructure or environmentrelated incidents in collaboration with global teams.
• Guide the adoption of cloudnative patterns, automation, and modern infrastructure practices.

Monitoring, Observability & Operational Excellence

• Design and operate comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to maximise system visibility and reliability.
• Drive root cause analysis and implement proactive measures to reduce incidents and eliminate recurring issues.
• Ensure compliance with operational, security, and regulatory standards.
• Participate in and help refine the oncall process, improving response effectiveness and system resilience.

Collaboration, Leadership & Continuous Improvement

• Partner closely with developers, architects, product leads, QA, and security teams to embed DevOps principles across the lifecycle.
• Support governance of release management, environment readiness, and deployment workflows to ensure smooth, predictable delivery.
• Identify improvement opportunities across tooling, processes, performance, and automation—driving strategic DevOps enhancements.
• Create and maintain highquality technical documentation for pipelines, infrastructure, standards, and operational procedures.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and technical leadership to junior engineers and peers.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• 5–8+ years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or SRE, ideally within complex enterprise environments.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms (Azure Monitor, App Insights, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
