Job summary

BDO India is seeking a Data Privacy professional to assist clients in complying with DPDP, GDPR and CCPA. You will conduct privacy assessments, support privacy framework implementation, advise on data lifecycle and consent management, and assist with breach response activities.

Role requires 1–4 years of privacy experience, relevant law/IT/cybersecurity background, and privacy certifications. You will work with cross-functional teams across Mumbai and other locations.

Qualifications

  • 1–4 years of experience in data privacy (DPDPA).
  • Bachelor's degree in law, IT, cybersecurity, business or related field.
  • Privacy certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in privacy consulting, compliance or risk management.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical solutions.
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001 and ISO 27701; experience with data privacy tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on data privacy laws and regulations (DPDP, GDPR, CCPA).
  • Conduct data privacy assessments, gap analyses, and privacy risk assessments.
  • Support development and implementation of privacy policies, procedures, frameworks.
  • Assist with data mapping, RoPA, and data lifecycle management.
  • Provide guidance on consent management, data subject rights, and privacy-by-design.
  • Review contracts, data processing agreements, and vendor privacy practices.
  • Support incident response and data breach management, including regulatory notifications.
  • Deliver privacy training and awareness sessions to clients and stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with emerging privacy regulations, industry standards and best practices.

Job Summary:

The Data Privacy professional will assist clients in complying with data protection regulations such as DPDP, GDPR, and CCPA. Experience & Qualification:
  • 1-4 Years of experience in Data Privacy (DPDPA)
  • Bachelor's degree in law, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business, or a related field.
  • Privacy-related certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations and related compliance requirements.
  • Experience in privacy consulting, compliance, risk management, or related roles, preferably within consulting, legal, or technology-driven environments.
  • Ability to interpret legal and regulatory requirements and translate them into practical, business-ready solutions.
  • Familiarity with information security and privacy standards such as ISO 27001 and ISO 27701, and experience working with data privacy tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with high attention to detail and ethical judgment.
  • Effective client advisory and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Strong documentation, presentation, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet competing deadlines.
