Job summary

Withum is seeking a Senior Consultant in its Forensic and Valuation Services Group in Bengaluru to focus on equity valuations and related analytics. The role involves performing complex valuations for financial reporting, tax compliance, and advisory purposes, including security derivatives and capital structure analysis.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in CFI valuations, strong Excel/VBA skills, and a solid grasp of financial statements and tax returns, with a drive for quantitative

Qualifications

• Understanding of equity valuation methods such as DCF, market multiples, market transactions, and option pricing.
• 3+ years of experience in performing valuations for U.S. clients.
• Understanding of financial statements and business tax returns.
• Progress towards CFA, FRM, CVA, CEIV, CPA/ABV a plus.
• Strong interest in quantitative and economic analysis.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel preferred.
• Ability to program in VBA and/or other statistical packages a plus.
• Capacity to work independently on projects.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review valuation analyses for tax, financial reporting, and advisory purposes (enterprise values, stock options, warrants, convertible debt, and other derivatives).
• Complete data entry of tax returns and financial statements into Excel models.
• Assist in writing and preparing reports, letters, and client deliverables.
• Review third party appraisals for audit support purposes.
• Perform macroeconomic and industry research.
• Develop and maintain models using Excel and VBA for Monte Carlo, lattices, or other methods.
• Ensure understanding of tax and financial reporting guidance governing the analysis.

Senior Associate work on a variety of assignments, includingtaking substantial responsibility in performing equity valuations or complexsecurity valuations (stock options, warrants, convertible debt, other complexsecurities/derivatives, etc.) for financial reporting, tax compliance,transaction advisory, and other purposes. Additionally, Senior Associatesassist in projects related to economic and statistical analysis, modelvalidation, database management, and other ad hoc quantitative assignments.

How You'll Spend Your Time:

• Preparing& Review valuation analyses for tax, financial reporting, and advisorypurposes (enterprise values, stock options, warrants, convertible debt, equityallocations across complex capital structures, and other complexsecurities/derivatives) primarily in Excel
• Completingdata entry of tax returns and financial statements into Excel models
• Assistingin writing and preparing of reports, letters, and other client deliverables
• Assistingin review of third party appraisals for audit support purposes
• Performingmacroeconomic and industry research
• Reviewingvarious agreements, documents, research papers, and market research with theintent of capturing salient points to be used for modeling purposes and clearlycommunicate the key drivers to others
• Assistingin the development, maintenance, application of models using Excel and VBA forMonte Carlo, lattices, or other complex methods as requested
• Reviewingand gaining a sufficient understanding of the necessary tax and financialreporting guidance governing the analysis

Requirements

• Understandingof equity valuation methods such as discounted cash flow, market multiple,market transaction, and option pricing
• 3+years of experience in performing CFI valuations for U.S is required
• Understandingof financial statements and business tax returns required
• Progresstowards external designations such as CFA, FRM, CVA, CEIV, CPA/ABV a plus
• Stronginterest in quantitative and economic analysis
• Advancedknowledge of Excel preferred
• Abilityto program in VBA and/or other statistical package a plus
