Job summary

NALASHAA is seeking an experienced AS/400 Senior Developer / Technical Lead in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The ideal candidate must have robust expertise in RPG, RPGLE, CLLE, and DB2/400, and be able to design scalable solutions, mentor junior team members, and troubleshoot issues in critical applications.

The candidate will lead the development and support of AS/400 applications, manage coding standards, and participate in Agile methodologies to ensure quality and performance of projects.

We are seeking an experienced AS/400 Senior Developer / Technical Lead to join our team and drive the development, enhancement, and support of mission‑critical IBM i (AS/400) applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in RPG, RPGLE, CLLE, and DB2/400, along with the ability to design scalable solutions, mentor team members, and collaborate effectively with business and technical stakeholders. This role requires a hands‑on professional who can contribute to application development, troubleshoot complex issues, lead code quality initiatives, and support the modernization of AS/400 systems while ensuring high standards of performance, reliability, and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain AS/400 applications using RPG, RPGLE, CLLE, COBOL, and DB2/400.
• Create comprehensive technical design documents for AS/400 modules, programs, and components.
• Develop and manage reusable components and frameworks to improve development efficiency and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and production issues within defined SLAs.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring issues.
• Participate in effort estimation, sprint planning, and project delivery activities.
• Perform peer code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Participate in client meetings, demos, and technical discussions to showcase delivered solutions.
• Support Agile/Scrum delivery processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Establish and optimize development processes, version control practices, automation, and deployment procedures.
• Mentor junior team members through knowledge sharing, technical guidance, documentation, and training sessions.
• Ensure application quality through unit testing, integration testing, and adherence to quality standards.
