Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable AS/400 applications, modules, and reusable components using RPG, RPGLE, CLLE, COBOL, and DB2/400.
• Create comprehensive technical design documents and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve production incidents within agreed SLAs.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality guidelines.
• Design system components and technical solutions with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Participate in effort estimation, sprint planning, and Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
• Develop and execute unit testing and support integration testing to ensure robust application delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to provide technical guidance and project updates.
• Demonstrate solutions during client meetings and technical walkthroughs.
• Mentor team members through knowledge-sharing sessions, technical documentation, and code reviews.

• Strong hands-on experience with RPG, RPGLE, CLLE, and DB2/400.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise AS/400 applications.
• Proficiency in application architecture, module design, and performance optimization on the IBM i platform.
• Experience with COBOL development on AS/400 is preferred.
• Knowledge of job scheduling tools such as Control-M or similar schedulers.
• Familiarity with AS/400 integrations using REST/SOAP Web Services, APIs, XML, or related technologies is an advantage.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience conducting code reviews and maintaining coding standards.
• Hands-on experience with Agile, Scrum, and iterative development methodologies.
