Job summary

Uppteam in Surat seeks an experienced architectural drafter to develop shop drawings, detailed architectural documents, and submittals for wall cladding and building envelopes. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD and SketchUp is essential.

You will read US construction documents, coordinate with architects and engineers, and deliver construction-ready drawings with timely updates on progress and milestones.

Job description

• Collaborate with design team members to develop architectural details, shop drawings, and submittal packages for wall cladding and building envelope systems.
• Apply knowledge of US architectural design and construction practices to prepare accurate, coordinated, and construction-ready documentation.
• Proficiently use computer-aided design and drafting software, including Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, and SketchUp.
• Perform drafting, layout development, modelling, annotation, and basic calculations related to architectural and construction drawings.
• Prepare detailed shop drawings based on supplied architectural plans, design documents, sketches, and project specifications.
• Read, interpret, and coordinate US construction documents, including architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and relevant building envelope details.
• Communicate with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, designers, and project managers, to obtain the technical information required for project execution.
• Provide timely updates on drawing progress, deliverables, workload, and project milestones.
• Perform component-based material takeoffs and quantity assessments using approved shop drawings.
• Coordinate drawing revisions and incorporate design changes, technical comments, and quality-control feedback in accordance with project requirements.

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience in US-based architectural projects, particularly architectural drafting, construction documentation, detailing, and coordination.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, and SketchUp.
• In-depth understanding of the architectural design process, including drafting, 3D modelling, annotation, coordination, detailing, and construction documentation.
• Familiarity with US construction documentation standards, drawing conventions, building assemblies, and architectural detailing.
• Preferred experience in building envelope systems, wall cladding, exterior wall assemblies, and associated shop drawings and submittal packages.
• Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate architectural drawings, structural drawings, construction documents, and related technical specifications for US projects.
• Understanding of construction materials, component detailing, dimensions, and material takeoff procedures.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with a self-driven approach to managing multiple deliverables and deadlines.
• Excellent problem-solving, technical research, and development skills, with the ability to resolve drawing-related discrepancies.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and project stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
