Job summary

Mass And Void Architects in Kolkata is seeking an experienced Architect to lead design concepts and manage technical deliverables. You will coordinate with structural, MEP, landscape consultants, review shop drawings, and ensure integration of services.

You will verify sanctions comply with NBC 2016, local by-laws, and fire safety norms, while attending Municipal and Fire Committee meetings. Mentoring junior architects and overseeing site execution are essential aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• Must hold B. Arch or M. Arch degree.
• 5–10 years of professional experience as an Architect.
• Expert in AutoCAD; Revit preferred; SketchUp and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Technical Management: Develop design concepts and prepare detailed Design Basis Reports (DBR). Conduct QA/QC checks on all deliverables produced by junior architects.
• Consultant Coordination: Liaise with structural, MEP, landscape, and other consultants to resolve interface issues, review shop drawings, and ensure seamless integration of services.
• Statutory Compliance: Verify that sanction drawings and working drawings comply with NBC 2016, local building by-laws, and fire safety norms. Attend authority meetings (Municipal, Fire Committee).
• Team Management: Mentor and guide Junior Architects. Monitor project milestones and ensure timely execution of tasks.
• Site Management: Analyze site problems and propose design-based solutions. Supervise site execution to ensure quality compliance.
• Documentation & Control: Ensure drawing standards, file management, and document control procedures (as per SOP) are strictly followed, including issuing drawings with proper transmittals.
