Job summary

Contango Services in India seeks an experienced IT Support Analyst to provide first and second line support for trading systems, diagnose incidents, and ensure healthy system status. You will own Major Incident and Problem Management, liaise with development teams for escalations, and maintain documentation.

The role requires flexible hours to cover India and UK time zones, with on-call rotation. Ideal candidates have strong communication, analytical skills, and experience with SQL/PowerShell,

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in a support/monitoring role handling incidents and service requests.
• Basics of SQL and PowerShell scripting.
• Experience managing Windows and Unix/Linux servers.
• Understanding of software engineering and related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide first and second line support for systems in the trading support domain.
• Diagnose and resolve day-to-day live system incidents across multiple systems.
• Own Major Incident management and the associated Problem Management process.
• Maintain up-to-date support process documentation and prepare operational stats.
• Be flexible with timings (India and UK hours) and participate in on-call rotation.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide first and second line support for several systems in the trading support domain.
• Diagnose and resolve day-to-day live system incidents across a range of systems.
• Take ownership of Major Incident management and associated Problem Management process.
• Ensure systems are in a healthy status and proactively identify patterns that can cause issues in future. Liaise with development teams for escalations and hand-oversMaintain an up-to-date documentation of support processesPrepare operational stats to identify problematic areas in the systems and work towards improving systems. Should be flexible with work timings (India and UK hours) along with providing on-call support on rotation basis.

Required Experience:

• Evident systems analysis skills ideally garnered within an energy, commodity or similar trading environment.
• Atleast 5 years of experience on a support desk responsible for critical production applications.
• Experience managing incidents and service requests while providing timely status updates to business users.
• Should have excellent written/verbal communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Should have a good understanding of technology to be able to add value in maintenance/scripting and system and process improvements in general.
