Job summary

LPL Financial Global Capability Center in Hyderabad is seeking a Senior Analyst, Cyber Security Operations, to safeguard digital assets and infrastructure. You will conduct advanced threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and continuous improvement of security operations.

The role requires 5+ years in cybersecurity operations, SIEM/EDR expertise, and strong ability to mentor teammates. On-call rotations and cross‑functional collaboration are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity operations focusing on incident response, monitoring, or threat analysis.
• Familiar with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements (FINRA, SEC, PCI DSS).
• Experience with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel) and EDR solutions (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Defender for Endpoint).
• Knowledge of networks, OS (Windows, Linux), cloud (AWS, Azure) and scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced analysis of security events from SIEM/EDR/IDS to identify and respond to incidents.
• Lead incident response including containment, eradication, and post-incident analysis with cross-team collaboration.
• Conduct threat hunting to identify APTs and sophisticated attack techniques.
• Develop and maintain monitoring use cases, playbooks, and SOPs to improve detection.
• Participate in vulnerability management and remediation tracking.
• Evaluate new security technologies to improve posture and efficiency.
• Mentor junior analysts in the Cyber Security Operations team.
• Generate reports on incidents, trends, and metrics for management.
• Stay updated on threats and best practices to inform strategy.
• Participate in on-call rotations for 24/7 incident response.

Job Overview

As a Senior Analyst, Cyber Security Operations, you will play a critical role in safeguarding LPL Financial Corp's digital assets and infrastructure. This position involves advanced threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and continuous improvement of security operations to protect against evolving cyber threats.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced analysis of security events and alerts from various security tools (SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, etc.) to identify, investigate, and respond to potential security incidents.
• Lead incident response efforts, including containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis, collaborating with internal teams and external partners as necessary.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting activities to identify advanced persistent threats (APTs) and sophisticated attack techniques targeting LPL Financial Corp.
• Develop, implement, and maintain security monitoring use cases, playbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance detection and response capabilities.
• Participate in vulnerability management activities, including scanning, analysis, prioritization, and tracking remediation efforts.
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and tools to improve the overall security posture and operational efficiency.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts within the Cyber Security Operations team.
• Generate comprehensive reports on security incidents, trends, and operational metrics for management review.
• Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to inform security strategy and operations.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 security incident response coverage as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a dedicated cybersecurity operations role, with a focus on incident response, security monitoring, or threat analysis.
• Understanding of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., FINRA, SEC, PCI DSS).
• Expertise in security information and event management (SIEM) platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel) for alert correlation, log analysis, and dashboard creation. Proficiency with endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint). Understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), cloud environments (AWS, Azure), and common attack vectors. Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and data analysis.
• Relevant industry certifications such as GIAC GCIH, GCIA, GPEN, OSCP, CISSP, or equivalent are highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to lead and mentor less experienced team members.
