Job summary

LPL Financial Global Capability Center in Hyderabad seeks a Sr Engineer, Technology Ops to ensure recovery capabilities for our technology infrastructure. You will oversee advanced operational support and implement best practices across servers, networks, databases, and cloud environments.

Key duties include automating tasks with Python/PowerShell, leading failover runbooks, supporting on-call rotations, mentoring engineers, and evaluating new tools to improve reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a technology operations, disaster recovery, or similar role, preferably in a large-scale enterprise environment.
• Proven expertise in executing application and data center failovers.
• Strong proficiency in failover scripting and orchestration tooling.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Financial services industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of recovery plans and runbooks to streamline fail overs to meet Recovery Time Objectives and Recovery Point Objectives.
• Partner with peer engineering teams to develop scripted fail over capabilities for critical applications.
• Automate operational tasks and workflows using scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems and applications.
• Contribute to the development and enforcement of operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and technical expertise.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance operational capabilities and improve system reliability.
• Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
