Job summary

alliantgroup is expanding its Security Operations Center with an L1 SOC role based in Hyderabad. The position requires working US business hours and includes monitoring, incident triage, and SIEM management.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in SOC, knowledge of malware analysis and vulnerability management, and strong analytical/communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related disciplines.
• Professional Security certifications are a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of SOC experience.
• Knowledge in Malware Analysis and Vulnerability Management.

Responsibilities

• Operational security monitoring: review alerts, triage, determine true/false positives, escalate as needed.
• Manage and administer a SIEM, develop reports for clients.
• Identify data sources and analytics for inclusion into SIEM.
• Conduct trending analysis to identify anomalous activity.
• Develop new signatures and searches for detection.
• Identify log sources: AD, routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, IDS.

Role Overview

Alliant Cybersecurity is seeking anexperienced Level 1 analyst based in Hyderabad to help expand its Cybersecurityand Risk Advisory practice. This position primarily supports US-based customersand requires flexibility to work during US business hours.

What You'll Do:

Security Operations & Investigation:

• Knowledgeof security monitoring technologies and cored security principles
• Directexperience with any SIEM or log aggregation system
• Abilityto review captured network traffic, and compare against the contents of asecurity alert to verify the nature of the detection
• Experienceand familiarity with IT management products and services
• Experienceanalyzing Firewall, IDS, IPS, Web Proxy, Anti-Virus and SMTP data forsecurity-related concerns and events
• Scriptingskills in any common language (Python, Perl, Bash or Powershell) is a plus
• Abilityto suggest technical solutions to complicated problems

Responsibilities:

• Operationalsecurity monitoring to include: review security alerts, conduct triage analysisof related security events, make true/false positive decisions, make escalationdecisions (to senior analysts or to the Incident Response process), and makeinitial severity determinations
• Manageand administer a SIEM, develop reports and other capabilities to support theneeds of our clients
• Identifydata sources and analytics for inclusion into SIEM
• Conducttrending analysis of security alerts and events to identify patterns indicativeof new unauthorized activity
• Developnew signatures and correlated searches based on a variety of requirements
• Identifylog and event sources including Active Directory event logs, Routers, Switches,Firewalls, PCAP/Flow data, DNS, audit and authentication logs, VPN, IDS, andother sensor field tools and technologies
• Makerecommendations on new threat feeds and tools to help evolve automated threatdetection capabilities as well as aid in computer forensic and historicalinvestigations
• ProvideCybersecurity and Threat Analyst services to support active informationsecurity incidents and events from the Logging and Event Management solution
• Coordinationwith ISMS core team to support ISMS activities and implantation strategies atthe company.

Education:

Bachelor'sdegree in computer science, Engineering, or other related disciplines.
