Job summary

Mindstix Software Labs is seeking a UX designer with a strong AI-first mindset to craft conversational interfaces, copilots, and AI-driven dashboards. You will shape interaction patterns for probabilistic systems, run user research, and translate model capabilities into practical UX constraints.

You will collaborate with PMs, AI engineers, and data scientists to deliver high-quality AI experiences, focusing on trust, transparency, and inclusive design principles.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Product/UX design with a strong portfolio of shipped digital products; at least some work involving automation, recommendations, or data-driven experiences.
• Works across the end-to-end design process: research, problem framing, flows, IA, interaction, visual design, and usability testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for AI-powered experiences: conversational agents, copilots, smart search, personalization, and dashboards.
• Conduct user research to understand AI expectations, trust, control, and failure tolerance.
• Design interaction patterns for probabilistic systems: uncertainty, partial answers, clarifying questions, graceful failure.
• Create flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI for chat-based interfaces and AI-augmented workflows.
• Collaborate with PMs to define problem statements, success metrics, and experiment designs for AI experiences.
• Partner with AI Engineers and Data Scientists to translate model capabilities into UX considerations.
• Design transparency and control: explanations, citations, filters, and human override mechanisms.
• Run usability tests and evaluations for AI features (output quality, trust, task completion).
• Contribute to design systems for AI components: message bubbles, prompt chips, loading states, etc.
• Advocate for ethical and inclusive AI experiences across accessibility and bias considerations.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead design for AI-powered experiences: conversational agents, copilots, smart search, personalization, and decision-support dashboards.
• Conduct user research to understand mental models around AI-expectations, trust, control, and failure tolerance.
• Design interaction patterns for probabilistic systems: handling uncertainty, partial answers, clarifying questions, and graceful failure states.
• Create flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI for chat-based interfaces, multi-modal experiences, and AI-augmented workflows.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to define problem statements, success metrics, and experiment designs for AI experiences.
• Partner closely with AI Engineers and Data Scientists to translate model capabilities and constraints into UX (input constraints, latency trade-offs, guardrails).
• Design mechanisms for transparency and control: rationale/explanations, citations, feedback loops, content filters, and human override mechanisms.
• Run usability tests and structured evaluations specifically for AI features (e.g., output quality, trust, perceived intelligence, task completion).
• Contribute to and extend design systems for AI components: message bubbles, suggestions, prompt chips, feedback widgets, loading/skeleton states, etc.
• Advocate for ethical and inclusive AI experiences, considering bias, accessibility, and diverse user groups.

AI Design Stack (You May Work With)

You don't need all of these. Strong core UX skills plus willingness to learn AI tools is what matters.

Design Prototyping Tools

• Figma, FigJam, Framer, Miro or similar tools for flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
• Prototyping conversational UIs and micro-interactions.

AI Interaction Tools

• LLM playgrounds (Azure OpenAI Studio, OpenAI Playground, Vertex AI console, etc.) to explore behaviors and shape prompts.
• Working with sample conversations, prompt templates, and evaluation rubrics in collaboration with PM/engineering.

Collaboration Delivery

• Design systems and component libraries for multi-product environments.
• Basic understanding of front-end implementation constraints (React, mobile, design-to-code workflows).

Qualifications and Skills

• 3+ years of experience in Product/UX design with a strong portfolio of shipped digital products; at least some work involving automation, recommendations, or data-driven experiences.
• Strong skills across the end-to-end design process: research, problem framing, flows, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, and usability testing.
