symplr is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Accounting and Finance team in Bengaluru. The role is focused on India payroll end-to-end, including PF, PT, LWF, and TDS, with responsibility for statutory compliance and payroll controls.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in corporate GL accounting, strong Excel and reporting skills, and experience with end-to-end payroll processes. Collaboration with different departments and external resources is expected.

Qualifications

  • B.Com / MBA in Finance & Accounting or CA Inter.
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in corporate GL accounting.
  • StrongExcel and financial reporting skills.
  • Experience with payroll and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing in India including PF, PT, LWF, TDS.
  • Oversee end-to-end F&F process: final payouts, notice pay, leave encashment, bonus, gratuity.
  • Handle investment declaration/verification related to payroll.
  • Own and implement payroll controls framework with documentation.
  • Process employee claims and travel advances per company policy.
  • Drive close activities: payroll journals, accruals and reconciliations.
  • Present monthly balance sheet flux analyses and explain material changes in P&L.
  • Ensure TDS payments, filing and Form 16 disbursements; support audits.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and scalability.

Overview of the role:

We’re seeking Senior Accountant to join the Accounting and Finance team at symplr. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a strong financial reporting background. This is a highly visible role within the organization that will require collaboration across multiple departments and external resources.

This role is to manage the India Payroll end to end Independently and related statutory aspects

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate end-to-end payroll processing, including statutory payroll components such as Provident Fund (PF), Professional Tax (PT), Labour Welfare Fund (LWF), Income Tax (TDS), and statutory bonus in compliance with applicable statutory requirements.
  • Expertise in end-to-end F&F process: validations, final payouts, notice pay recovery, leave encashment, bonus, gratuity, reimbursements
  • Handling Investment declaration/ verification process related to payroll
  • Own and execute the payroll controls framework, ensuring consistent execution and documentation
  • Processing Employee claims and arrangement of travel advance & settlement of travel claims as per Company policy
  • Drive close activities including payroll journals, accruals and reconciliation
  • Prepare and present monthly balance sheet flux analysis
  • Perform monthly P&L flux analysis to explain material changes in account balances
  • Strong at TDS & Payroll related tax compliance
  • TDS payments, return validation & filing & Form 16 disbursements
  • Handling Gratuity accounts and related compliances.
  • Support Internal/ external audits by preparing schedules and documentation for our auditors
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process automation and improvement to ensure processes are scalable and optimized
Skills Required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • B com/ MBA in Finance & Accounting / CA Inter
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in corporate GL accounting

    Technical Skills:

    • Experience in Tally
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft excel and financial reporting tools
    • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and proactive approach
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
