Job summary

Coface is seeking a seasoned Regional Accounting & Tax Leader for Asia Pacific, overseeing multi-country financials, regulatory filings, and tax compliance. The role requires ensuring high data quality, strong financial controls, and continuous process improvement to support group reporting.

Responsibilities include monthly/quarterly group reporting, inter-company reconciliations, audit support, and driving standardization of closing processes across the APR region.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant working experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and tax reporting across Asia.
  • Experience in audit and regulatory filings is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead regional financial reporting across Asia Pacific with timely, accurate data.
  • Coordinate tax compliance, tax provisions, and regulatory filings for multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support audits, internal controls, and policy interpretation across APR.
  • Drive process excellence, standardization, and automation in close cycles.
  • Collaborate with local finance, SSC, IT, and risk management teams.
  • Oversee intercompany reconciliations and multi-currency reporting accuracy.
  • Manage regional accounting guidelines and cross-border governance.

Job Description
MISSION :

Lead and oversee regional accounting and tax activities across Asia Pacific, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, strong financial controls, and continuous process improvement to support business and Group reporting requirements.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Main responsibility is to ensure accurate and timely closure of multi-country financials, ensures cross-border regulatory and tax compliance for local and group reporting. Key duties include regional financial & tax reporting, tax compliance and regulatory filings, audit and control coordination, maintaining high data quality and sounds financials.

Regional Financial Reporting
  • Lead & drive Group Reporting on monthly and quarterly basis, ensure timely completion and accuracy
  • Ensure group reporting follows Group Accounting Guidelines
  • Drive Balance Sheet review for full understanding on variance / movements
  • Lead and ensure correctness on multi-currency reporting and analysis
  • Ensure inter-company balance is fully reconciled
Tax Compliance and Reporting
  • Lead and support quarterly tax reporting and annual tax drift
  • Review and support for tax provisions, deferred taxes calculation, and maintain tax loss carried forward analysis
  • Support local finance for timely tax submissions and queries from local tax
  • Coordinate and support Transfer Pricing and Pillar II report, ensure timely and accurate submission
Auditing and Governance
  • Support local finance on statutory audit as and when needed
  • Assist in interpreting accounting standard / tax rules, ensure compliance with respective reporting as regulatory submission
  • Monitor and implement necessary internal financial controls to improve quality of financials
  • Assist in drafting regional accounting guidelines, achieve correct and consistent interpretation of rules across APR
Operational Excellence / Process Improvement / Finance Projects
  • Support finance improvement and transformation projects, process automations, and any relevant system implementations.
  • Assist in driving standard operating procedures across the region for closing process
  • On going improvement for standardization and simplification
  • Maintain / monitor on regional project cost capitalization calculation and recharge process, ensure compliance with group rule

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree – major accounting, finance or a related discipline
  • Qualified Accountant from any recognized accounting institution / jurisdiction
  • 10 years + relevant working experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting & tax reporting across Asia
  • Tax qualification, audit background & Insurance industry experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of accounting tool, e.g. SAP, Sage, etc
  • Soft Skill: strong coordination and communication skills, proactiveness, self-initiative, work independent and under stress
