Job summary

Big Happy in India is seeking a Senior 3D Animator to lead animation quality across advertising and digital projects. You will produce production-ready product animations, mentor junior animators, and help establish consistent rigging and workflows.

This role requires strong Blender/Maya skills, a solid portfolio, and the ability to collaborate with global teams across USA time zones. Candidates should have excellent communication and a proactive problem-solving mindset.

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior 3D Animator to join our fast-paced creative team to lead animation quality across multiple advertising and digital media projects. In addition to creating production-ready product animations and motion graphics, you will mentor junior animators, review animation quality, develop animation rigs, and help maintain consistency across the animation team.

This role combines technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and hands‑on production within a fast‑paced creative environment.

NOTE:

• Candidates must be open to occasionally attend meetings within USA time zones EST/EDT and PST/PDT hours.
• Applications submitted without a portfolio or showreel will not be considered.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Must-Have Skills

• Proven experience as a Senior 3D Animator with a strong portfolio in product animation and motion design.
• Advanced proficiency in Blender, Autodesk Maya, or similar software.
• Proficiency in transferring 3D models and animations from other DCC software to Blender, as Blender is our primary production tool.
• Excellent understanding of animation principles, including timing, spacing, and easing.
• Strong understanding of product animation, camera movements, and motion graphics.
• Experience working with constraints, modifiers, and animation workflows.
• Strong rigging knowledge, including constraints, parenting, and deformation workflows.
• Experience creating animator-friendly rigs.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Experience mentoring junior team members.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus):

• Experience with Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Experience with simulations, particles, and procedural animation.
• Experience with Cascadeur or Houdini.
• Basic lighting and compositing knowledge.
