Job summary

BIG Happy is seeking an experienced Senior 3D Animator to lead animation quality across multiple advertising and digital media projects. You will mentor junior animators, review animation quality, develop animation rigs, and help maintain consistency across the animation team.

This role combines technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and hands-on production within a fast-paced creative environment. Occasional meetings in USA time zones are required.

Qualifications

• Senior 3D Animator with a strong portfolio in product animation.
• Advanced proficiency in Blender, Maya, or similar software.
• Proficiency in transferring 3D models/animations to Blender as main tool.
• Understanding of animation timing, spacing, and easing.
• Strong rigging knowledge and animation workflows.
• Experience mentoring junior team members and collaborating well.

Responsibilities

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior 3D Animator to join our fast-paced creative team to lead animation quality across multiple advertising and digital media projects. In addition to creating production-ready product animations and motion graphics, you will mentor junior animators, review animation quality, develop animation rigs, and help maintain consistency across the animation team.

This role combines technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and hands‑on production within a fast‑paced creative environment.

NOTE:

• Candidates must be open to occasionally attend meetings within USA time zones EST/EDT and PST/PDT hours.
• Applications submitted without a portfolio or showreel will not be considered.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Must-Have Skills

• Proven experience as a Senior 3D Animator with a strong portfolio in product animation and motion design.
• Advanced proficiency in Blender, Autodesk Maya, or similar software.
• Proficiency in transferring 3D models and animations from other DCC software to Blender, as Blender is our primary production tool.
• Excellent understanding of animation principles, including timing, spacing, and easing.
• Strong understanding of product animation, camera movements, and motion graphics.
• Experience working with constraints, modifiers, and animation workflows.
• Strong rigging knowledge, including constraints, parenting, and deformation workflows.
• Experience creating animator-friendly rigs.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Experience mentoring junior team members.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus):

• Experience with Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Experience with simulations, particles, and procedural animation.
• Experience with Cascadeur or Houdini.
• Basic lighting and compositing knowledge.
