Job summary

Advance Career Solutions is seeking an L1 Security Monitoring Engineer with 3+ years in Network Security to perform 24/7 monitoring, alert triage, and incident documentation. You will work with NGFW, Check Point IPS, Palo Alto WildFire, and NetScout Anti-DDoS, escalating complex issues to L2/L3 teams.

Responsibilities include triage, investigation, ticketing, patching support, and asset inventory maintenance. BE/B.Tech or equivalent CS/IT degree with relevant certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience in Network Security or Cybersecurity monitoring.
• Bachelor's/Master's in CS/IT or related field; professional certifications such as CEH, CCNA Security, PCNSA preferred.
• Experience with NGFW, Check Point IPS, Palo Alto malware sandboxing and NetScout Anti-DDoS.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and perform initial triage of security alerts to identify threats and false positives.
• Analyze Check Point IPS alerts and investigate intrusions and malicious traffic.
• Review Palo Alto malware sandbox reports to identify malicious files and affected systems.
• Monitor NetScout Anti-DDoS alerts and traffic anomalies for DDoS activity.
• Document and maintain records of security incidents and assets; escalate when needed.
• Escalate incidents to L2/L3 with detailed notes and context.
• Follow incident response procedures and maintain security tickets.
• Support patching, software updates, scans and system maintenance.
• Maintain inventory of security assets (OS, DB, web server, apps, IPs).

Job Title: L1 Security Monitoring Engineer Firewall / IPS / DDoS

Job Summary

We are looking for an L1 Security Monitoring Engineer with 3+ years of relevant experience in Network Security and Cybersecurity monitoring. The candidate will be responsible for 247 monitoring, alert triage, initial investigation, incident documentation and escalation related to Next-Generation Firewalls, Check Point IPS, Palo Alto Malware Sandboxing and NetScout Anti-DDoS solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and perform initial triage of security alerts to identify genuine threats and false positives.
• Analyze Check Point IPS alerts and investigate potential network intrusions and malicious traffic.
• Review Palo Alto malware sandboxing reports to identify malicious files, understand their behavior and determine potentially affected systems.
• Monitor NetScout Anti-DDoS alerts and traffic anomalies to identify potential DDoS attacks.
• Investigate, document and maintain accurate records of security incidents and affected assets.
• Escalate confirmed security incidents and complex issues to L2/L3 teams with detailed investigation notes.
• Follow established incident response procedures and maintain security tickets.
• Support security patching, signed software updates, system scans, plugin updates and security system maintenance.
• Maintain the inventory of security assets, including OS, database, web server, application and IP address details.
