Job summary

Keka Technologies Private Limited seeks a Section In-Charge – Sand Plant for its Sand Plant Maintenance unit in Maharashtra. The role requires 5–10 years of hands-on experience in foundry sand plant and moulding operations, with a Diploma/BE/BTech in Mechanical, Production or Foundry Technology.

You will own sand plant operations, control green sand properties, oversee preparation, reclamation and distribution, monitor equipment and consumables, and coordinate with Moulding, Melting, Quality and

Qualifications

• Overall responsibility for sand plant operations, production and quality.
• Control and maintain green sand properties such as moisture, compactability, permeability, GCS and other defined parameters.
• Ensure proper sand preparation, mixing, reclamation and distribution as per process standards.
• Monitor sand plant equipment, mixers, conveyors, screens, coolers and reclamation systems.
• Ensure availability and proper control of bentonite, coal dust, additives and other consumables.
• Coordinate with Moulding, Melting, Quality and Maintenance departments for smooth production.
• Analyze and control casting defects related to moulding sand such as blowholes, scabs, sand inclusion, veining and poor mould strength.
• Monitor sand consumption, rejection, productivity and process losses and initiate improvement actions.
• Ensure implementation of 5S, safety, SOPs, Kaizen and continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain daily production, quality and process parameter records.
• Lead and develop operators and technicians working in the sand plant.

• Good understanding of foundry defects and their relationship with sand properties.
• Knowledge of sand testing and process control.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to lead manpower and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, TPM and safety practices will be an advantage.
