Job summary

BMWTechWorks India seeks an experienced Catia V5 Release Management engineer to drive technical project delivery in PLM. Based in Pune, you will own the independent geometric design and integration of axle components for BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce, guiding release from concept to production.

You bring 8+ years in mechanical/mechatronic engineering, strong Catia skills, and experience with vehicle development processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead Catia-based 3D geometric design and axle component integration.

Join BMWTechWorks India and become a vital part of our Cluster Digital Product Engineering, supporting BMW’s vehicle development through innovative and precise engineering. In this role within the CAD Unit, you will be responsible for the independent geometric design and integration of axle components for BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce. You will contribute to cutting-edge automotive projects, collaborating across teams and suppliers to bring high-quality components from concept to release.

What should you bring along

• Strong engineering background in mechanical, mechatronic, or related fields
• Experience or strong interest in vehicle development processes
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills in English, enabling clear and effective interaction
• Analytical and networked thinking with a proactive attitude

Must have technical skill

• Proficient in Catia for 3D geometric design and modeling
• Geometric design: Processing of installation space topics, carrying out package and tolerance investigations, ensuring package conformity and creating documentation documents
• ? Concept studies: Creation of 3D concept models, concept and inquiry drawings for inquiries
• ? internal/external exchange (suppliers)
• ? Release preparation (create numbers and increase maturity level, create iRAM context, NAEL creation and processing for release, maintenance 2D/3D, FDM, virtual car)
• ? Design models and development
• Knowledge of BMW-specific tools such as NextOne, Applaus-App, iRAM, EFA, Cobra, gAMS, and others related to component release and data exchange

Good to have Technical skills

• Experience in preparing technical documents, drawings and release documentation
• Understanding of installation space management, package and tolerance investigations
• Skills in virtual vehicle integration and functional data management
• Experience in coordinating with suppliers and managing data deliveries
