Job summary

NeST Digital is seeking an experienced SDET/Automation Engineer to design and build scalable automation frameworks for web, desktop, and API testing. You will automate Windows desktop apps, create API test suites, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve quality practices.

You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to test strategy, and help raise the overall testing standards across the project and organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software testing and test automation experience.
• Proven track record designing and building test automation frameworks.
• Hands-on desktop automation with WinAppDriver / Appium for Windows / FlaUI.
• Strong API testing and automation experience (Postman / REST Assured).

Role Overview

The role will work closely with development, QA, DevOps and delivery teams to build scalable automation, improve product quality and enable faster, more reliable releases.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Framework Development

• Design, develop and maintain scalable and reusable test automation frameworks for web, desktop and API testing.
• Build framework components such as reusable libraries, utilities, reporting, configuration and test data management.
• Define automation strategy, standards and best practices for projects and teams.

Test Automation & Quality

• Automate testing of Windows desktop applications, including UI and functional workflows.
• Build and maintain API test suites for REST and other service interfaces, including functional, integration and regression coverage.
• Analyse test results, triage failures and work with developers to drive defect resolution and root cause analysis.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and quick feedback.
• Collaborate with development, product and delivery teams to improve test coverage, testability and quality practices.
• Review code and test designs, and mentor junior engineers on automation practices.

Required Experience & Skills

• 8+ years of experience in software testing and test automation, with significant experience in an SDET or automation engineering role.
• Proven experience in designing and building test automation frameworks from the ground up (data-driven, keyword-driven, Page Object, BDD or similar approaches).
• Hands‑on experience in desktop application automation using tools such as WinAppDriver, Appium for Windows, FlaUI, pywinauto or similar.
• Strong experience in API testing and automation using tools such as Postman, REST Assured or similar.
• Good working knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI or similar) and Git-based version control.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile practices and test design techniques.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience with performance, security or accessibility testing tools.
• Exposure to containerized test environments (Docker) and cloud platforms.
• Experience using AI‑assisted tools for test generation, maintenance or analysis.
• Experience working with global customers in an IT services environment.
