About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on and experienced Tech Lead to join our growing engineering team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of talented engineers, driving the technical direction of our backend, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions. You will work closely with Product Managers, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust and scalable technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

Own the overall architecture and design of our systems, ensuring scalability, performance, maintainability, and security.
Hands-on in Ruby, Python, SQL, NoSQL and event-based systems is a must. Overall the individual should be excited to build highly scalable complex distributed systems.
Mentor and guide engineers on technical best practices, problem-solving, and career development.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.

Product Development:

Collaborate closely with Product Managers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Evaluate the technical feasibility and impact of product features.
Contribute to the definition and refinement of product roadmaps.

Team Management:

Lead and motivate a high-performing team of engineers.
Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and guide the engineering wrt to their career growth.
Develop proactive and ownership culture.
Foster a positive and inclusive team environment.

System Operations:

Monitor system performance and identify and resolve issues proactively.
Implement and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems.
Automate to improve efficiency and reliability.
**Innovation:**Explore and evaluate emerging technologies and their potential application to our products.
Drive the adoption of AI/ML solutions to enhance product features and improve business outcomes.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
At least 3 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on backend development.
At least 1 year of experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying scalable and high-performance backend systems.
Proficiency in at least one backend programming language. Preferable - Ruby, Python
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Understanding of DevOps principles and experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
Good communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
