Job summary

ABB Motion in Bangalore, India is seeking a procurement professional to oversee purchasing and logistics activities, ensuring compliance with ABB procedures and participating in training for ongoing professional development.

The role reports to the Procurement Team Lead and focuses on supplier identification, negotiation, contract adaptation, bid evaluation, and order management to meet POs and drive value for the business.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of experience in Procure to Pay.
• Engineering degree with good supply chain management and negotiation skills.
• Adheres to ABB values and ethics in all activities.
• Ensures compliance with internal and statutory regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify suppliers; support supplier onboarding with relevant teams.
• Negotiate agreements; renew price lists and terms as needed.
• Adapt corporate contracts to local needs; propose frame agreements to management.
• Analyze bids to determine best value; support bids and proposals with market information.
• Track goods receipt and ensure invoice processing per guidelines.
• Oversee supplier performance (delivery, quality, lead time) and drive resolutions.
• Initiate supply orders in the system and monitor supplier delivery against PO requirements.

This Position reports to: Procurement Team Lead

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of the purchasing and logistics-related activities in the Procurement function to support the businesses. Each day, you will execute assigned activities as per ABB standard procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by delivering and participating in training programs as required to ensure compliance and to foster professional development.

This role is contributing to the Motion business based in Bangalore, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Supplier identification Recommends / supports in Identifying new suppliers and coordinates with relevant category team. Follows the process to qualify new suppliers in cooperation with Supplier Quality and Engineering specialists.
• Negotiations Supports in negotiating agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews pricelists, terms and conditions and feeds back recommendations for appropriate actions.
• Contracts Adapts corporate contractual framework to the local business needs. Recommends frame agreements to management, ensures approved contractual terms in execution. Bid analysis Analyses and evaluates bids within the scope, in order to determine the optimal value.
• Sales support Supports bid and proposal teams by providing relevant market information within the area of responsibility. Goods received Tracks goods received to verify appropriate delivery and ensure invoice processing as per available guidelines.
• Supplier performance Oversees supplier performance (on time delivery, quality, lead time), and recommends solutions / resolves performance issues within the scope.
• Orders Initiates supply orders in the system, confirms delivery with suppliers, monitors and tracks supplier performance to purchase order requirements.

Qualifications For The Role

• 2 to 4 years of experience in Procure to Pay.
• Any full time engineering with good supply chain management and negotiation skills.
• Conducts all Supply Chain activities for all goods and services in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Ensures integrity and compliance with ABB values and ethics in all activities.
• Ensures adherence to all relevant internal and statutory regulations and policies.
