Job summary

Scrubsy, based in Gurugram, India, is seeking a Scientist/Senior Scientist - R&D to own products from idea to pilot batch. You will formulate, test, prove performance and drive scale-up for home care formulations.

Lead end-to-end development in FMCG categories, evaluate raw materials, run lab-to-pilot trials, and deliver clear data-driven reports using Excel, Power BI, and AI tools to top management.

Qualifications

• B.Tech (Chemical Engineering)/B. Pharma/M. Pharma/M.Sc. (Chemistry) or equivalent.
• 3+ years of R&D experience in FMCG formulation development, specifically in Home Care, Personal Care, Fabric Care, or Hygiene categories.
• Proven track record of taking at least one product from concept through commercial launch (full NPD/EPD cycle).
• Read, understand, and apply relevant SOP / ISO protocols with regards to data generation for product registration for submission to Global Regulatory, Agencies.
• Proper operation, standardization & maintenance of lab equipment.
• Maintaining accurate laboratory notebooks, following Safety and Good Housekeeping requirements.
• Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques for working at the bench, understanding or interest in chemistry, surfactant or related science.

Responsibilities

• Develop new home care formulations end to end, from concept and prototypes through stability and pilot-scale trials.
• Build performance systems that make our products different.
• Set the efficacy benchmarks with protocols you design and competitor comparisons you run.
• Evaluate and qualify new raw materials and polymers.
• Run lab-to-pilot trials and hand over cleanly to production.
• Use Excel, Power BI and AI tools to analyse data and make reports to showcase to top management.

Brief: We are looking for a Scientist/Senior Scientist - R&D, who will own products from first idea to pilot batch. You won’t be one step in a long chain. You will formulate, test, prove performance and take the product to scale-up our products.

What We Are Looking For

Mandatory Requirement

• 3+ years of R&D experience in FMCG formulation development, specifically in

• evaluations of competitive products.
• Hands-on formulation and ingredient understanding , with experience interpreting performance and stability data
• Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional stakeholders
• Working knowledge of stability studies, product performance evaluation, and technical documentation
  

Additional Requirement

• Exposure to claims substantiation and consumer testing methodologies
• Exposure to Performance testing and demo development
• Experience with alternate vendor/raw material qualification and cost-optimization projects
• Prior experience in patent filing or IP documentation
