Labcorp is seeking a Scientist I (Bioinformatics Scientist I) to join our team at Yeshwantpur in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Work Schedule

40hrs a week (Monday to Friday) in a rotational shift

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop a deep understanding of the assays run in the Specialty Genomics group
  • Perform routine QC and any required downstream analyses following established work instructions for production analyses
  • Communicate progress, results, concerns, and/or troubleshooting to lab staff, project managers, and/or clients.
  • Act efficiently in an environment with dynamic timelines and changing priorities
  • Establish and foster excellent working relationships with bioinformatics team members
  • Support validation projects through analysis and/or documentation activities
  • Any other duties as assigned by the management based on the business needs
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in bioinformatics, Genomics, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of bioinformatics experience (NGS and/or arrays)
  • 2+ years of demonstrated competency in statistical analysis methods, Python, R, common bioinformatics tools, etc.
  • Full comfort working in a mix-based, command-line environment. Bash or other scripting skills is essential.
  • Hands-on experience or working knowledge of NGS workflows, genomic data analysis, sequence quality control, and mapping techniques.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Complete assigned training requirements and maintain an accurate, up-to-date training record.
  • Review and adhere to applicable SOPs, work instructions, and quality processes.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record retention to support business continuity and audit readiness.
  • Contribute to a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
  • Effectively functions in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment
  • Consistently demonstrates strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Prioritizes workload effectively with guidance
  • Quickly and competently trains on and performs new and updated analysis methods
  • Understands and performs specific tasks that need to be completed daily with high attention to detail to perform high quality data analysis
  • Identifies and offers suggestions for process improvements
  • Completes written reports as part of client deliverables
  • Previous CRO experience
  • Understanding of requirements for working under various regulatory environments
  • Previous experience providing training, mentoring, process leadership, or operational support is highly desirable.
