Job summary

TANUH (Translational AI for Networked Universal Healthcare) is seeking a Scientific & Technical Writer to develop clear, scientifically rigorous documentation. You will work with researchers, clinicians, engineers, and leadership to support research, product development, funding, and implementation efforts.

Your work will span grant proposals, technical reports, concept notes, implementation guides, donor reports, white papers, and other strategic documents that communicate TANUH’s work to

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Public Health or related field.
  • 3–7 years of scientific/technical writing experience.
  • Excellent written English with editing and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly.
  • Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing multiple writing projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of high-quality grant proposals, concept notes, Expressions of Interest (EOIs), and funding applications.
  • Develop technical reports, white papers, implementation guides, annual reports, and other organizational documents.
  • Translate complex AI, healthcare, and research concepts into clear, accurate, and compelling narratives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to gather scientific, technical, operational, and financial inputs.
  • Identify and track relevant funding opportunities aligned with TANUH’s priorities.
  • Coordinate proposal development, timelines, documentation, budgets, and submission requirements.
  • Maintain a centralized repository of grant documents, proposal templates, institutional content, and reporting schedules.
  • Support post-award reporting and documentation for funded projects.
  • Continuously improve the quality, consistency, and impact of TANUH’s written communication.

TANUH (Translational AI for Networked Universal Healthcare) is the AI Centre of Excellence in Healthcare, funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and hosted at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. We develop and deploy responsible AI solutions that improve disease prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and healthcare delivery at scale.

Role Overview

TANUH is seeking an exceptional Scientific & Technical Writer to serve as the organization’s central technical writing resource. You will work closely with researchers, clinicians, engineers, and leadership to develop clear, compelling, and scientifically rigorous documentation that supports our research, product development, funding, and implementation efforts.

Your work will span grant proposals, technical reports, concept notes, implementation guides, donor reports, white papers, and other strategic documents that communicate TANUH’s work to diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation of high-quality grant proposals, concept notes, Expressions of Interest (EOIs), and funding applications.

Requirements
Required
  • Master’s degree (or higher) in Public Health, Life Sciences, Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Health Policy, Communications, or a related field.

  • 3–7 years of experience in scientific writing, technical writing, grant writing, medical writing, or research communications.

  • Excellent written English with exceptional editing and proofreading skills.

  • Ability to understand and communicate complex scientific and technical concepts.

  • Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills.

  • Experience managing multiple writing projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Preferred
  • Experience writing grants or technical documents in AI, Digital Health, Public Health, Biomedical Research, Clinical Research, Medical Devices, or Health Systems.

  • Familiarity with funding agencies such as BIRAC, ICMR, DBT, DST, ANRF, MeitY, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Ministry of Education, Gates Foundation, Wellcome Trust, NIH, Horizon Europe, Grand Challenges, and leading CSR foundations.

  • Experience supporting multi-institutional collaborations involving academia, hospitals, industry, and government.

  • Familiarity with Responsible AI, Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP), and AI ethics in healthcare.
