Job summary

Smile Foundation invites applications to implement and manage its CSR-funded scholarship project, engaging with girl scholars and maintaining donor communications. The position requires a graduate/postgraduate with at least three years in development work and knowledge of scholarship management.

Qualifications

• Graduate/Postgraduate in any field; preferably engineering or MSW.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in foundations/development organization/colleges or relevant sectors.
• Experience in scholarship management would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Implement and coordinate the scholarship project as per plan and timeline.
• Identify colleges and eligible students for scholarships.
• Liaise between faculty, staff and scholars to provide information and resources.

Smile Foundation works for the welfare of underprivileged children and their families through intensive programs focused on education, healthcare, skilling and women empowerment and Empowering Grassroots. Started in 2002 by a group of young corporate professionals, today Smile has evolved into a national level development organization impacting lives of over 2 million underprivileged children and their families with project presence in 27 states across India,10 offices in strategic locations and over 650 employees, besides countless volunteers, well- wishers and supporters.

Currently SF has been implementing projects worth Rs 80 Crore across India directly or with the help of grassroot organizations, primarily CSR funded projects of varied scale both in urban slums and rural areas including aspirational districts in thematic areas mentioned above. The wealth of knowledge emanated from the same is immense, however the same is grouped in systematic manner which can be used for pitching for large projects of long term in nature leading to data driven knowledge products which can be further used in creating largescale impact.

Implement and manage the CSR-funded scholarship project, actively engage with the girl scholars to support their educational journey and maintain regular and transparent communication with the donors to keep them informed and involved.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and coordinate the scholarship project for selected students as per the Project Implementation plan and the timeline.
• Identification colleges for promotion of scholarships program in those colleges and identification of eligible students for scholarship
• Acts as liaison between faculty/staff, scholars to provide information and resources regarding scholarship activities and programme.
• Regular mentoring and monitoring the progress of scholars
• Supports in planning and conducting training programme involving external trainers
• Identify companies for internship and placement for scholars. Create formal partnerships with companies to organize exposure visits, training, internship and placement.
• Assists in operations and database management procedures and coordinates design and maintenance of scholarship MIS.
• Coordination of special events such as exposure visit, scholar meet and other events as planned.
• Periodic activity and financial planning and reporting as per the calendar.
• Any other assignments in similar projects.

Qualifications:

• Graduate/Postgraduate in any field. Preferably engineering or from MSW

• Experience in scholarship management would be an advantage.

• Admission process and timeline in engineering courses
• Engineering Scholarships landscape in India
• Internships and Placement landscape related to Engineering in India
