Job summary

MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions in Karnataka, India, seeks a scientist to support developing soldering and interconnecting materials for PCB and semiconductor assembly, and to evaluate products per customer requirements.

You will operate and maintain laboratory instruments, document test results, and contribute to product characterization and quality. A MSc or B.Tech in a relevant field with 1–4 years of experience and strong English communication is preferred.

Qualifications

• MSc in Material Science, Physics or Polymer with 1–2 years of experience in industrial or academic research.
• B.Tech in Chemical, Materials or Polymer Engineering with 2–4 years of experience in industrial or academic research.
• Practical knowledge of material science fundamentals and lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experiments in the laboratory, prepare samples, characterize products, and evaluate performance per project specs or customer requirements.
• Use analytical problem-solving for R&D, conduct applied research in materials and process development.
• Document lab procedures and results, analyze data, and prepare reports following quality requirements.

Who are we looking for?

This position is a part of MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions (MAES) R&D team. Primary purpose of this position will be to support developing soldering /interconnecting and allied materials for PCB and semiconductor assembly, evaluating products per customer requirements, quality check (QC), operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments, documentation and presentation of test results.

What will you be doing?

• Conduct experiments in laboratory, prepare samples, characterize products, evaluate product performance and reliability as per project specifications or customer requirements.
• Use creative problem-solving knowledge for scientific research and development. Conduct applied research in Materials and Process Development.
• Utilize knowledge of analytical instrumentation, and materials science to support product development and product characterization.
• Document laboratory procedures and results, analyze test data, prepare test reports and documents following quality requirements of the organization.
• Present and discuss finding from laboratory work within work group.
• Maintain inventory of raw materials and other supplier as required.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and ensure safety and cleanliness of the workplace

Who are You?

• M.Sc. in Material Science, Physics or Polymer with 1 – 2 years of working experience in industrial or academic research
• Or B. Tech in Chemical, Materials or Polymer Engineering with 2 – 4 years of working experience in industrial or academic research
• Practical knowledge of Material Science and engineering fundamentals with experience in operating, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory and process equipment.
• Understanding of analytical techniques used for material characterization. Ability to take the ownership of various instruments will be preferred.
• Awareness of safety, cleanliness, and quality
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Statistical analysis
